Kaos Validated In Blood Review

KAOS
VALIDATED IN BLOOD

MALEVOLENCE RECORDS
Release Date: March 28th 2015

Annihilator Suicide Society

Kaos have been a part of the bay area thrash scene for a number of years and despite a hiatus some years back, the band bounced back at the turn of the century with a string of vicious albums that hark back to the original bay area thrash but with a modern spin on a defining style of music. The band's latest released, "Validated In Blood" is an E.P. full of that modern take on an old sound.

"United We Kill" swings back and forth between thrash and melodic parts, a definite strong start for the E.P.. "Internal Bleeding" starts out as a fairly speedy track but slides into a more groove tempo that is reminiscent of classic Slayer. It's the catchy melodies that drive the song although if you want those riffs, this track has that too. "Alive To Die" is a much slower track, heavy and extremely memorable. It's one that will spin around in your head for sometime. The thrashier aspects return on "Blood Red Eyes", a mix between Kreator and Onslaught but the band save a killer track for last in "Kill On Command", a brilliant rendition of an old Vio-Lence song originally written by Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmell. It's a song that fits very well alongside Kao's other 4 tracks and unsurprisingly, a band that has influenced countless thrashers including Kaos themselves

Do yourself a favor and check out Kaos's "Validated In Blood". If you haven't caught onto the band by now, this will pique your interest and open the gateway to their other albums which ultimately is what E.P.'s are generally designed to do.
