‘Ready For the Fall’ that kicks off ‘Stand Up and Be Counted’ by Northern Ireland’s Screaming Eagles exemplifies a band who play straight forward Hard Rock and Roll like so many bands have done in the past and so many will do in the future, yet surprisingly few do so well.

Screaming Eagles could be likened to anyone from Rose Tattoo to Junkyard and have that unadorned sound that eschews all trappings of fad or genre for pure and simple ‘Rock’.

If you like it all dirty, love the smell of fire and gasoline, bourbon and steak then check these guys out. It’s good old honest rock and roll from first bite to the last.

Tracks like ‘Save Me’ sound at times like vintage Skid Row but there’s certainly that Aussie Rock / Rose Tattoo take on the Blues on ‘Bow Down to the Blues’. But it’s not the whole story - there’s the hard and funky ‘Chase You Down’ which sounds like Electric Boys with attitude; the AC/DC hues of ‘Get Out While I’m Ahead’ and the dirty blues of ‘Breakin’ All the Rules’.

Best of all though is the eponymous ‘Screaming Eagles’ which brings it all together perfectly. Northern Ireland is producing some great bands these days and Screaming Eagles join the best of them – more than good enough to take on the world!
