INTERVIEW: Cockpit

Interview by Shane Pinnegar

Cockpit 2010

Shane has a quick chat with L.A. rockers COCKPIT.

Hi ladies, thanks so much for talking to The Rockpit – how is the world of Cockpit in 2010?

Busy! We’re about to head out on a tour through Texas which will includes two dates at Texas Rock Fest in Austin. There are also tons of other touring plans in the works, plus writing, writing, and more writing…

Your debut EP “Mission To Rock” got some great reviews – when can we expect a full album from Cockpit?

Soon. We’re really excited about working on our full length too.

We’re excited to hear it and you bet we’ll have a review up at The Rockpit as soon as we can.
Being an all girl band, do you find this helps open doors for you, or does it make you have to work harder to prove yourselves?

It’s just like most things that differentiate people from others. For every door it opens, one gets slammed in your face. It’s a tough business, but that’s the case for everyone not just us.

Who are your favourite female rockers – and why?

We have tons of respect for all of the ladies who managed to distinguish themselves in the genre like Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Girlschool, and I personally love Stevie Nicks. But we don’t love them because they’re female. We love them because they’re awesome, just like all of our favorite bands.

What’s next for Cockpit?

The sky is the limit…

Thanks again for talking to The Rockpit – hopefully we can have a longer chat soon.
