Baby Woodrose – Freedom

Bad Afro - September 16th 2016

11 albums into a career that started back in 2001 it’s always surprised me that psychedelic / space rockers baby Woodrose aren’t better known outside their native Denmark.

If you like a languid, breezy approach to 60’s style rock with trippy lyrics, a tab of Neil Young, along with extended guitar breaks and hypnotic arrangements then Baby Woodrose is perfect listening.

Try to opener ‘Reality’ and feel those guitars driving you forward, or the slower spaced out ’21st Century Slave’  and you get a real taste of what Baby Woodrose is all about.

With tracks ranging from the Mod-Rocker ‘Open Doors’ to the Hawkwindish ‘Mid Control Machine’ there’s also more variety here than you might imagine but it all sounds distinct and compelling.

Take that long strange trip you’ve always wanted to and take a trip with Baby Woodrose.
