DevilDriver took a short hiatus last year after touring relentlessly for years since their inception in 2002, churning out album after album in a series of successful runs. 2016 brings the band back into the spotlight once again with their latest effort “Trust No One” so we caught up with frontman Dez Fafara during band rehearsals to discuss the new songs as well as his thoughts on the recent fall of Soundwave Festival and the bands inclusion on the new Legion Music Festival.
Dez: Any artist is encumbered upon themselves to give you a window into their life over the last time they’ve been writing the record and to also paint a picture of what’s going on in the world today for you and for everybody listening. And really this is the world we are living in now, Trust No One for sure. You go to a airport and it’s like you see something that’s going on all over the world, people are looking over their shoulder every 5 minutes. But personally I parted ways with some musicians obviously, people in business as well and some people in my personal life, all were bringing me an extremely negative attitude and negative things and I washed my life in the last year and a half to get so much better. So that’s what this record is about as well.
