Hailing from Ferrara in Italy, VOODOO HIGHWAY return with their third release. After the highly rated debut album BROKEN UNCLE`S INN, released in 2011 and the follow up SHOWDOWN in 2013, they released their first EP.
They have featured in CLASSIC ROCK magazine and their SHOWDOWN album cover was designed by none less than Storm Thorgerson creator of works by Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd amongst others.
Kicking off with opener NY DANCER, which has a great bluesy intro which leads into a fantastic rocking track, courtesy of a brilliantly heavy guitar sound. The vocals are excellent all through. Giving this EP an 80`s feel in places with a rockier and modern edge to it. GRACE OF THE LORD, is just as rocky, if not more so. Personal favourite TEARS OF A BRAND NEW SEA closes the EP in fine style.
With great playing throughout I can’t believe this lot have slipped me by. Don`t make the same mistake. They are working on music for another full length release later this year. On this evidence, it should be a contender for album of the year. Normally I have a personal gripe about releases of this length but that is impossible when the quality is as high as this. Can’t wait for the album. Do whatever you have to. Catch this, catch them. Don’t let it pass you by. Mightily impressive.
