Melbourne’s Arkive are today unleashing the fury of a brand new track – Acquiescence. The blistering track features Marcel Gadacz (Dream On, Dreamer) and is the first single from Arkive’s looming EP ‘Sonder’.
Acquiescence is an exploration of the individual’s responsibility in the universe, that we are responsible for uncovering the hard answers to our own life’s harder questions and the conflict with our own disinclination in the face of this stark reality.
Vocalist Mitch Burgess said “We are entering a whole new era for us. This new song and EP signals new sounds for us and we were over the moon to get Marcel from Dream On, Dreamer on this song. We are seriously excited about the future of Arkive!”
The track and the EP were both recorded between bedrooms in Melbourne’s quiet suburbs with touches completed in Oakland Studios by Beau McKee and Jamie Marinos, then mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc.
Arkive have taken the stage with Buried in Verona, Make Them Suffer, Polaris, Belle Haven, DVSR and Pridelands, and the experience and time spent crafting this new set of songs shows in a mature and new sound on ‘Acquiescence’ and the forthcoming ‘Sonder’ EP.
