Balloons Kill Babies release new video and single for ‘Illuzia’

Balloons Kills Babies

Balloons Kill Babies are peeling back the illusion of reality with their brand new song Illuzia. Today they are rolling out a filmclip for the song and announcing their launch party for the song at The Foundry on Saturday July 22- alongside their mates Kodiak Empire, Red In Tooth and Inovo. The instrumental post-rock three-piece outfit now features recent addition on drums and percussion, Scott Davey (formerly of Dead Letter Circus and also the mastermind behind Three Tonne Deep).

“Illuzia” (Hungarian for illusion) is the second single from Balloons Kill Babies in the lead
up to their sophomore EP “Prodromal” – produced by ARIA award winner Govinda Doyle. A
three and a half minute cathartic dreamscape, the song journeys through moments of
ambient calm, euphoria and disorienting chaos.

A collective visual interpretation of the sound by the band in collaboration with Luke
McClean (Shots for Bands) and Beau Sharpe , the video takes place in an almost dream
like space, with dancer (Debbie Olcorn) acting as the personification of the song’s emotion
and emergence of an idea in the mind’s eye. With the band obscured throughout the clip
BKB drive home their philosophy of the music being the most important aspect of the band,
removing ego and message from the work.

BKB’s guitarist/songwriter Twiggy Carter is beaming about the launch show – “It’s our first headlining show in a while and we couldn’t be happier with how it’s played out. The Foundry is an excellent venue and incredibly supportive of independent music and all the bands on the bill are not only close friends of ours, but incredibly talented. We shared a rehearsal room with Inovo, the vocalist/bassist of Red In Tooth is one of our crew members and we’ve worked closely with Kodiak Empire since both bands started.”

Balloons Kill Babies are aural painters – their dark and visceral pieces are portraits of captured emotions and moments. The instrumental nature of the band means that they are not constrained by the elements of popular music, instead working in movements and waves of music. Balloons Kill Babies are a three-piece making heavy instrumental post-rock – succinctly described as “huge and dark,” their performances attract audiences hungry for something different.

Balloons Kill Babies have played with some of the world’s best contemporary instrumental and prog acts such as Anathema, The Ocean, KLONE, Voyager, Like Thieves, SydoniaHazards of Swimming Naked and more.
