A roundup of the latest news from Century Media artists including updates on Body Count, Deez Nuts, Havok, Arch Enemy, Vampire, Firespawn and The Haunted.
BODYCOUNT – BLOODLUST
The wait is finally over, as ICE-T’s BODY COUNT is back and more vicious than ever. Their highly-anticipated new, full-length album, Bloodlust, is set for a March 31st release via Century Media Records and the impactful music video for the scathing new track, No Lives Matter, can be viewed now below. Bloodlust features guest collaborations from Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God) and Max Cavalera (Sepultura).
DEEZ NUTS – BINGE & PURGATORY
DEEZ NUTS are set to release brand new album Binge & Purgatory on April 7 via Century Media ahead of their You Are Part Of This European Tour with Comeback Kid, First Blood, Hellions, Risk It, Get The Shot and Reality Slap.
Binge & Purgatory was produced by Deez Nuts and Andrew Neufeld (Comeback Kid), engineered by Shane Frisby (The Ghost Inside, Bury Your Dead) and mixed and mastered by Pete Rutcho (Parkway Drive, The Ghost Inside).
Binge & Purgatory was written in and inspired by New York City. “Binge & Purgatory is heavier and more melodic, but also more concise and deliberate. We need to be lifted to be inspired and surrounded by friends. We work best in a party environment. I think it translates to the songs. Binge & Purgatory is the most well-written body of work we have to date.” says JJ Peters
Guest appearances include Terror frontman Scott Vogel on Antidote and Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta on Lessons Learned. “The guests just happened organically,” JJ Peters remembers. “We only ever have good friends guest. Luckily, our friends also happen to be our favorite artists. We always wait for a part to sound like it needs a certain guest. Those two spots seemed perfect for Scott and Jamey. So, we reached out and they jumped on the tracks. We’re in love with their parts.”
HAVOK – CONFORMICIDE – Out Now!
Thrash Metal outfit HAVOK have unleashed another new track off their upcoming record, Conformicide, which will be released on March 10 2017 via Century Media Records. The song, titled Ingsoc, is the longest running on the new album and lyrically takes heavy influence from the classic George Orwell novel, 1984.
Speaking about Ingsoc, HAVOK lead guitartist Reece Scruggs states: “This is one of my favorite tracks on the record, and a bit left field compared to most HAVOK tracks. Full of slamming riffs and burning lines; it’s still 100% us but a bit progressive. I fully believe this song display the best in each of us and comes together to be a ripper!”
Adding his thoughts on the writing and thematics behind the song, David Sanchez (vocals, guitar) comments: “1984 takes place in a socialist hell wherein there is perpetual war, government-sanctioned propaganda, massive gaps between the rich and poor, and “Big Brother” spies on every citizen. It appears that Orwell was not just a novelist, but a prophet; as Ingsoc has become all too real. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”

VAMPIRE – WITH PRIMEVAL FORCE
Ghoul Wind, a brand new track from VAMPIRE’s upcoming second studio album With Primeval Force has been released. VAMPIRE’s way to combine Swedish death metal darkness with the invincible force of Teutonic thrash metal and the nightmarish rapture of Scandinavian black metal is unrivalled. Lugubrious beauty, inscrutable dread and abysmal terrors blended to a concoction most secret and forbidden. Ghoul Wind as well as the previously launched rough mix of the album track Skull Prayer is a prime example of the indisputable quality of one of Sweden’s most hopeful upcoming bands.
Behold the godless spirit raiders, smell the cadaverous odour and harken the ghoul wind!
With Primeval Force will be released on April 21 as limited deluxe CD Digipak (unfolding to cross shape) and deluxe LP (with Gatefold sleeve, 180 g vinyl and 12-page LP-booklet).
More news to be spread in the following weeks.
A rough mix version of the album track Skull Prayer has already been made available. Check it out here.
FIRESPAWN – THE REPROBATE
The Reprobate, the second album by Sweden’s death metal commando FIRESPAWN, is set for release on April 28 2017. But today you can already check out the track Blood Eagle, a less-than-3-minutes blasting assault, that lays down the band’s line of approach unequivocally: Remorseless, impetuous death metal, combing the sombre maliciousness of ancient Swedish death metal with technical finesse and untameable ferocity. Check out Blood Eagle here.
The Reprobate will be released as Digipak CD, deluxe LP (with Gatefold sleeve, 180 g vinyl, poster, inlay and the entire album on CD) and as digital download/stream.
THE HAUNTED – ALBUM RECORDINGS STARTING SOON
After finishing a successful UK tour together with Meshuggah, Swedish Thrash Metallers THE HAUNTED are soon to commence recordings for their newest, 9th studio album effort, which is expected to be released worldwide by Century Media Records later in 2017.
THE HAUNTED’s guitarist Ola Englund checked in with the following status update for the new album: “After almost 2.5 years since the release of ‘Exit Wounds’, we’re finally hitting the studio again. This time around we have chosen Russ Russell of Parlour Studios to record/mix the album, so we’re heading over to UK early march to start with the drums. And telling from the pre-productions, this will be a bit more of a dynamic album than “Exit Wounds”, song-wise. I’m very excited to let the fans hear what we have in store. It’s brutality and beauty in perfect disharmony.”
Next to the upcoming tour of Central Europe supporting label mates Arch Enemy in March/April, THE HAUNTED have now also already announced own Scandinavian dates for August/September.
