Hands Like Houses have today dropped “Ana’s Song (Open Fire)”: the second single from Spawn (Again): A Tribute To Silverchair, set for release on November 17 via UNFD. The band have also announced they will be playing a very special run of intimate acoustic dates around the country in 2018. Kicking off in Melbourne on on January 18, The Resonants Tour will be the first time the band has toured in a completely stripped back format.
Created with the blessing of Silverchair’s team, Hands Like Houses join acts like The Amity Affliction, Northlane, In Hearts Wake and Tonight Alive putting their spin on classic Silverchair hits from their stellar discography.
For Hands Like Houses frontman Trenton Woodley, Ana’s Song (Open Fire) is the perfect blend of aggression and honesty, but still has enough room for the band to inject their own style and sound. “It’s impossible to be an Australian band and not have some recognition and appreciation for the huge role Silverchair has played in Aussie music, and the pathway it created for rock in particular. Daniel Johns has such a strong songwriting style, so when were were asked if we were interested in this compilation, it was an intimidating but exciting prospect to try and bring in our own take on their music, while still retaining and respecting what made them such massive hits. We’re stoked on how it came out and hope it, along with the rest of the compilation, does justice to the significance of Silverchair’s role in Australian music history!”
Hands Like Houses may have just wrapped up their biggest headline Australian run to date, but there’s no stopping the boys from Canberra. With two completely sold out 2017 Australian tours to their name – one which even included a detour in the middle to support Bring Me The Horizon on their arena tour around the nation – Hands Like Houses will kick off 2018 with a mighty twilight appearance on UNIFY 18. Afterwards, the band will switch their electric guitars for acoustic ones and hit some of the most intimate rooms in the country for The Resonants Tour.
The Resonants Tour is a concept that has been in the works for a while, and the band are finally bringing it to life. All the members of Hands Like Houses take inspiration from various forms of music, and the stripped back nature of the tour allows the band to explore different paths and experiment with sounds, giving new life to their beloved catalogue of songs.
The Resonants Tour will be the first – and quite possibly the last – time to see Hands Like Houses at their rawest, so don’t sleep on these tickets.
Spawn (Again): A Tribute To Silverchair is available for preorder at 24Hundred and iTunes.
