Jeff Kollman is one of the most highly regarded and in-demand axe slingers on the L.A. scene. Other than Glenn Hughes, Jeff is also currently the guitar player for the ALAN PARSONS LIVE PROJECT, ASIA feat. JOHN PAYNE, the BOMBASTIC MEATBATS feat. Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Japanese superstar EIKICHI YAZAWA. and ROCK PACK, a classic rock all-star configuration featuring vocalists Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Gregg Rolie (Santana), Steve Augeri (Journey), Bobby Kimball(Toto) and John Payne. He was also the guitarist for UFO off-shoot MOGG/WAY on their 1999 album ‘Chocolate Box’ and recorded and toured with UFO vocalist Phil Mogg as SIGN OF 4.
In addition, Jeff leads his own highly acclaimed progressive rock/metal trio, COSMOSQUAD, just back from a tour of Japan in support of their new album, ‘The Morbid Tango’, and continues to work as a solo artist. His 1999 solo album, ‘Shedding Skin’, has just been re-mastered and re-issued.We caught up with Jeff just before the show in Perth during the Classic Deep Purple Australian tour with Glenn Hughes to discuss the shows, a little musical history and much more.
