Brisbane’s metal lords Lavidius are taking things up about 20 notches today with their brand new single and video – Cold & Alone. Cold & Alone will be released into the world this Friday 23rd June on Spotify, Google Play and iTunes.
Formed in 2008 – but taking their time to evolve into this final/latest form, Lavidius have produced this first taste of their forthcoming album (details coming soon!). This first taste comes in the form of a filmclip that tells the story of a creeping voyeur who has an obsession with a woman, spying on her and following her. But what transpires next is not what he expected, he might just get what he wants… but he may learn that perhaps what we want isn’t always good for us.
The epic/crazy clip was edited & Directed by D.O. Blackley for Her Name Is Murder Productions and stars Chris Liefting & Owen Monroe, the Band Performance Cinematography was handled by Chris Elder, Narrative Cinematography by D.O. Blackley, Chantel Van Den Berg & Chris Liefting.
Lavidius is Nathan Stiffel (lead vocals), Jon Shedden (guitar and backing vocals), Marcus Glover (guitar), Sebastian Desmarias (bass guitar) and Ben Bowen (drums). The band have supported and played shows with Spanish thrash band Angelus Apatrida and Australian legends Orpheus Omega, Witchgrinder, DarkCell, Chronolyth and Vanishing Point.
2014 saw Lavidius enter studio Anders Debeerz to record their debut EP “Prison Within”. It was mixed by Adam Merker and mastered at Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren and released on September 20, 2014. In June 2016, Lavidius entered studio Anders Debeerz again with Adam Merker to record this, their debut album “Helisma”, of which Cold & Alone is the first cut from.
The recording process was not without it’s speedbumps and the loss of various members of the group slowed proceedings down, including guitarists and vocalists. After some recruitment and touring with new members – the album was back on track and Merker guided the band through the process, including a guest vocal performance from Björn ‘Speed’ Strid (Soilwork) on the track “Days get Darker”, which will be released later in the year.
Cold & Alone will be available online this Friday 23rd June in iTunes, Spotify and Google Play.
