Patent Pending headlined their annual holiday show at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The show was held on Saturday, December 23, 2017. It was a perfect night for a show, since most young adults are home from college on winter break. The venue is located in the downtown area with several restaurants nearby. Band members consist of Joe Ragosta (Lead Vocals), Anthony Mingoia (Drums), Marc Kantor (Guitar), Rob Felicetti (Guitar, Vocals), Corey DeVincenzo (Bass). Opening acts included Keep Flying, Eternal Boy and Twisting Life.

Patent Pending lead singer, Joe Ragosta is always full of energy while running around and jumping on stage. The American pop punk band puts passion into their performance which made it one of the highlights of the night. They played their album “Second Family” in its entirety followed by other fan favorites. Patent Pending released their second full length album “Second Family,” on July 12, 2011. I have attended many Patent Pending shows and I can honestly say that it truly feels like one big community. Lead singer, Joe Ragosta has always described it as a “Second Family”. The band really cares about their fans and always takes the time to listen when someone is going through a difficult time in their lives. It’s great to have the support and makes people feel like they are not alone. You are surrounded by a community of people who care and want to help when needed.

The setlist included “Cut, Copy, Paste” and “Set the Sun on Fire” which are upbeat songs from their “Second Family” album. If you looked around the room, everyone at the show shares the same taste in music so you are always guaranteed to have an amazing time! During the song “Little Miss Impossible” there was a circle pit in the middle of the room. A fan in the audience was even dressed up in a Santa outfit and panda costume. The band really connected with the crowd when they played the song “Brighter” which was off their third full length album. This song is about feeling low and trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It basically gives us hope when we feel the world around us is a dark place. The album includes 12 songs, featuring a bonus track titled, “Spin Me Around.

Patent Pending encored the show with “She’s a Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas” which was a perfect ending to the night. After the show, the band usually meets in the lobby to sign autographs or take photos with fans. This is a show that I look forward to every year and I can honestly say the turnout is amazing! After several years of recording music and performing shows Patent Pending has developed a strong fanbase. I am curious to see what other plans the band has in store for the near future!
