NUCLEAR BLAST NEWS: Doro, Blind Guardian, Eluveittie, Destruction

A roundup of the latest news from Nuclear Blast including updates on Doro, Blind Guardian, Eluveittie and Destruction.

DoroMetal queen DORO has released her first German album titled Für Immer, via her own label, Rare Diamonds Productions. Additional info can be found below!

Für Immer is purchasable on clear vinyl exclusively at the Nuclear Blast Mailorder

‘Für Immer’ – a divine ballad, an over-song, a smash hit and forever connected with DORO, who conceived this beautiful track back in 1987. DORO‘s very first German song ever – and possibly the first track in the history of heavy rock that connected German and English lyrical passages.

‘Für Immer’ celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and that’s why a fitting unique DORO album will be released: The German DORO album titled »Für Immer«, which includes 17 German, digitally remasterd DORO tracks, incl. well known songs and fan favourites such as ‘Alles Ist Gut’, ‘Herzblut’, ‘Engel’ and ‘In Liebe Und Freundschaft’.

Additionally DORO has included some extra surprises, with German versions of some of her classics: ‘Give Me A Reason’ (‘Ein Stück Ewigkeit’) and ‘My Majesty’ (‘Jede Seele Tief’) as well as an absolute rarity, ‘Seelied’, which has never been released before.

“It’s a song I wrote ages ago, but now it has finally found its perfect home, on the German album,” explains DORO regarding the song, which she recorded only accompanied with decent guitar tunes and a piano.

DORO‘s brand-new cover version of David Bowie‘s immortal hit ‘Heroes’ (‘Helden’), is one of the highlights of the album, which will be available on CD and limited 2LP picture disc (plus two bonus tracks, ‘Tausend Mal Gelebt’ and ‘Für Immer’). The track was previously released as a 7″ single.

“‘Heroes’ is one of my all-time favourites, the song also works very well in German,” DORO explains. Speaking about her connection to the late megastar Bowie, she continues: “We met regularly in the 90’s since we both recorded and rehearsed a lot in the famous SIR Studio in New York. Bowie’s guitarist, Earl Slick, even played on ‘In Freiheit Stirbt Mein Herz’ from my »Machine II Machine« album (1995). Earl is an outstanding guitar player – and the song is, of course, also a part of the new »Für Immer« record.”

DORO‘s first German only album will be released on her new, recently established label, Rare Diamonds Productions. With the foundation of her own label, a long-time dream of the metal icon came true. “Now I’m able to realise my ideas and fulfil the wishes of the fans,” she says. “It was about time to finally release all my beautiful German songs as one album. A lot of fans had asked for this for a long time.”

She adds: “On Rare Diamonds Productions, nice collector’s box sets, re-releases and rarities will see the light of day from time to time. We also focus on picture discs and shaped vinyls – we want to do it the old school way how the fans like it the most.”

Swiss folk metal stars ELUVEITIE released their latest masterpiece »Evocation II – Pantheon«, back in August via Nuclear Blast. This acoustic album continued the path of its precursor »Evocation I« (2009) and entered the charts worldwide, placing at #2 in Switzerland! All chart results can be found below.

Today, mastermind Chrigel and his fellow band mates proudly present a brand new single. The song entitled ‘Rebirth’, is available worldwide now and gives fans an exclusive taster of what to expect from the forthcoming ELUVEITIE album!

The official video for the new track was produced by Wolfgang Wolman & Oliver Sommer (AVA Studios) and can be seen here:

Chrigel comments:
“After a longer period of playing many acoustic sessions, peaking in creating our much-anticipated second acoustic album »Evocation II – Pantheon«, we’re of course more than excited to finally go about our next metal juggernaut! We’ve been gathering ideas since quite a while and yes, we started working on our next metal album!

It will still take a while until we’ll enter the studios again, since we first want to and will accomplish an amazing »Evocation II« touring cycle.

But to soothe your [and our ;-)] waiting time, we recently gathered again in the legendary Newsound Studios to produce a first single off our upcoming metal album already – so welcome our youngest baby: ‘Rebirth’!

We believe, it turned out a real monster of in-your-face folk metal and we’re super proud of it. And we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do! As always it is full of pristine celtic folk music and contains treasures such as the old Irish traditional ‘Lads Of Laois’. But at the same time, ‘Rebirth’ comes with a steamrolling truckload of pure fucking metal!

Conceptually the song takes a rather philosophical approach on ancient Celtic spirituality and mythology (and so will our upcoming album)! We take ancient mythological images to contemplate them from the view point of our every-day life (no matter if “we” lived 2,000 years ago or today, because we believe that the deep meaning and significance of these images didn’t change ever since)! ‘Rebirth’ deals with the ancient Celtic image of the “cauldron of rebirth”, with it’s meaning and with the darkest passages of our lives, through which we all have to go to arise reborn.”

German thrash titans DESTRUCTION will release their new “best of old school” album »Thrash Anthems II«, on November 10th via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band has released the first single from the album titled ‘United By Hatred’. The original track appears on the second DESTRUCTION album, »Eternal Devastation«, which was released in 1986.

Pre-order »Thrash Anthems II« physically, here: http://nblast.de/DestructionTAIINB

As well as teasing fans with the first single, the band has also released a medley video incl. classic photo material for »Thrash Anthems II«. Listen to song snippets of the new reworked classics ‘United By Hatred’, ‘Black Death’, ‘Black Mass’ and ‘Confound Games’, here:

In 2007, DESTRUCTION proved how successful re-recording some of their timeless classics and reimagining history could be. Tracks like ‘Frontbeast‘, which was only ever released on a demo back in 1983, have been included on the forthcoming release. Fans will also be pleased to hear that Schmier has lent his vocals to the track ‘Rippin You Off Blind’. The original song features on the »Cracked Brain« album.

The follow-up to 2007’s »Thrash Anthems« is ready to rock the metal world and shows how fans can be part of both a band’s history and future. For »Thrash Anthems II«DESTRUCTION called upon on their loyal fans through PledgeMusic to help them create the record and contribute to the band’s epic history.

Mastermind Schmier states:
“As it is a part of our past to relaunch classic songs from our history with a fresh face and we had many demands on a »Thrash Anthems« continuation, we decided to do a second part of this re-animation of classic 80s DESTRUCTION material. For us it was important to chose the tracks with the fans and first when NB did not wanna do the album we decided to do a pledge campaign to raise the fonds for the production together with the die hards.

To make a long story short, we know not everybody will like these new versions of those thrash evergreens (just listen to the originals then) but it was an important task for us to keep them alive for a whole new generation of metalheads that love those fresh and brutal new recordings. We are very happy now, that our label is finally releasing this collection of thrash classics. The vibe on this record is so vicious, uncommercial and has this 80s feeling with a even more aggressive edge and THAT is was made our THRASH so special, in the good old days and now!”
