To debut their cover of DEPECHE MODE’s 1997 hit single ‘It’s No Good’, IN FLAMES are taking over DEPECHE MODE’s Facebook page today starting at 13:00 CET, releasing exclusive content and a new video for the song – watch it here:
The panoptic covers collection also includes IN FLAMES‘ versions of ALICE IN CHAINS’ ‘Down In A Hole,‘ CHRIS ISAAK’s ‘Wicked Game,’ and a live bonus version of NINE INCH NAILS’ ‘Hurt‘. It sees the Swedish quintet expanding beyond metal to incorporate the group’s varied musical taste and expansive sonic range.
“We’ve been fans of DEPECHE MODE since we were as young as 10. Getting to do our rendition of ‘It’s No Good’ showed us a different side of the song – it brought new meanings to us. We relate to the lyrics and power of the song so heavily that it almost feels as if we could have written it ourselves. They’re a band that we’ve always looked up to. Growing up, you either listened to Pop, Synths or Rock and even though we are a metal band, DEPECHE MODE inspired a lot of the electronic elements we use in our music today.”
Earlier this week, the Swedish icons IN FLAMES kicked off a 25 date Co-Headline arena tour with American heavyweights, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and special guests OF MICE & MEN in Helsinki. Watch an exclusive clip from the show here:

»Change Your Position« is the follow up to the 2016 critically-acclaimed debut album »Fed To The Lions«. The new album sees the band take a huge step forward as both songwriters and performers. The band’s unique blend of fuzz-driven rock with a modern alternative twist has won them a legion of fans. The album stamps its authority right from the off with the taut ‘Money In The Bank’ (also the first single). From the staccato stomp of ‘Playing With Fire’ to the huge riffs of ‘Cut Your Chains’, from the garage rock of ‘On The Run’ to the slow groove and instant lyrical hit of ‘All That Medicine’. »Change Your Position« is a lean, focused album loaded with an energy that is set to propel the band to headline status.
The driving rhythms of Jack Taylor (drums) and Antonio Angotti (bass) are overlaid with the powerful riffs of JP Jacyshyn (guitars) and distinctive melodies of Alex Veale (vocals, guitars).

Victor comments on the song: “I am looking forward to play that song live, because I am pretty sure that it will turn out to become an anthem on stage. When I wrote “Hail To The King”, I felt pretty much inspired by SAVATAGE. I still remember the time, when I played my first European tour with my former band MIND ODYSSEY, supporting SAVATAGE – which was a real blast, we were jamming with them every day during soundcheck. I think you’ll hear their inspiration on this track.”
