Open Your Eyes to New Clear Vision – NCV announce Open Your Eyes Tour

New Clear Vision

Nu-metal can be a ‘dirty’ word in the metal scene, but Sunshine Coast heavy groove merchants, New Clear Vision will be prying open your peep holes on their ‘Open Your Eyes’ Tour in July through to September, covering festival appearances and venues throughout South East Queensland.

The Coast heavy-hitters have had a turbulent and drawn-out history for a band that have only played a handful of live shows, with the band forming and beginning their process of their debut album (recorded at Dean Wagner’s Wagwurst Studio, anddue out later in the year) in October 2015, with the work only just recently wrapping up.

The result is an album that vocalist Brad Bromfield describes as ‘beautifully evil’, a twisted, dark journey with plenty of chunk and bile that they’ll be showcasing on their ‘Open Your Eyes’ Tour.

“We went through such a process as a band in the creation of this album, from transitioning bassists, to our drummer having to fly up once a month from Melbourne, but producer Trevor (Stefiuk) hung in there with us, helping us something hectic, abrasive with a whole heap of groove,” he said.

“We’ve had a very fortunate run with our live shows as well, having our debut opening for Australian nu-metal legends, Superheist, sharing the stage with King Parrot, and now featuring on some amazing metal festivals in this part of our country… hate to sound cliche but the persistence has paid off.”

Having already tested audiences with a previously released version of the track ‘Human Waste’, New Clear Vision will be bringing out their official first single, to be announced in coming weeks, and the band couldn’t be prouder.  To go a step further on this, one of the tracks from the debut album will also be part of the soundtrack to an upcoming feature film.

“Our track, ‘My Reprisal’ was written some time ago now… I had actually asked the director of the film if I could write a song for it, he agreed, and was more than pleased with the final result, so yeah, you could say we’re pretty excited to see this being used,” Brad said.

Who knows, with the revival of bands like Superheist, and now New Clear Vision flying the flag proudly for nu-metal kind, we could see a new evolution of chunkier, groove-based heavy music on the scene again very soon.
