Psychedelic Porn Crumpets unleash ‘High Visceral’ B-Sides ‘Old News For New People’

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets

In 18 months since their inception psyche rock lords the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have signed both national and international agency deals. Started their own record label What Reality? Records. Sold out both national tours. Curated a festival. Supported the likes of King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Dune Rats, and Skeggs and dropped two highly sought after albums. Upon announcing their third national tour and a surfeit of summer festival dates the Perth natives have unleashed ‘Old News For New People’ the B-Sides to the acclaimed ‘High Visceral’ Part One and Part Two series.

The first single to drop ‘Little Moon’ set the pace for the 6 track master piece“Fuzz and reverb are champions on this track, as the builds and overall pacing of the single demonstrates the band’s excellent dynamic as a musical unit – they’re just getting better and better. If you want your rhythms served up rich and textured” AU REVIEW

Old News For New People’ is the four pieces final cera to the High Visceral series. ”These have been some of our favourite songs to record. I think it’s a bit more personal this record, we’ve always been afraid to get deep as it’s a different mind set, we’re used to hammering out riffs and getting a crowd going but I feel like this album will be a favourite amongst fans who enjoy that escape, it’s a thoughtful listen rather than a club thumper. We added a larger variety of sounds and experimented with Sitars, Synths, polyrhythmic violins and Vietnamese drone flutes to add textures we didn’t offer in the other albums. We’re keeping that ‘every song needs to sound different’ mentality and I feel like Old News For New People will be a pleasant surprise to old fans and new.”  Jack McEwan

With the ‘Old News For New People’ tour set to be underway within a matter of weeks, fans best to get in quickly to catch a glimpse of the band that Happy Mag has been donned “Australia’s next massive psych rock act.  Melbourne dates are already sold out with all other dates selling quickly. Adelaide has seen the addition of the Punk Ass Kid DJ’s, curators of  Adelaide’s own Winterfest. SMIJ, Hannah Atcheson and Cameron Kym Jones who have been added to the already bustin’  ‘Dr Noggin Floggin & The Cosmic Toothbrush Festival’  line up to bring their live artistic flair.
