Raised By Eagles are very much looking forward to celebrating Christmas 2017. It’s been a busy and stunning year for the Melbourne based 4-piec.e outfit. Signing to ABC Music early in the year, the band then toured as support to Mick Thomas & The Roving Commission before releasing their much-anticipated third album in May, with the pressure of expectation – mostly internal – ever-present in the lead up and first few weeks following the release.
They needn’t have worried. I Must Be Somewhere cements Raised By Eagles’ reputation as one of Australia’s finest Americana / alt. country bands – it’s a stunning suite of timeless songs built on the stable foundations of top class songwriting, impeccable musicianship and an innate sense of soul and integrity.
The album won rave reviews nationally and saw the band take out back to back wins for Best Country Album at The Age Music Victoria Awards (following their last album – 2015’s Diamonds In The Bloodstream) against some very fine competition. The rest of 2017 saw Raised By Eagles tour the East Coast and appear at festivals such as Out On The Weekend and Semaphore Music Festival.
With 2018 and a long hot Summer just ahead, Raised By Eagles have unveiled a video for Night Wheels – the 3rd single from I Must Be Somewhere – plus they recently announced two very special all-star Victorian Christmas shows (A Country Christmas Revue) planned to see the year out. See below for details on those – but before then – check out the video for Night Wheels.
Raised By Eagles invited friends & fellow talents Lost Ragas and The Ahern Brothers to join them in a rousing, soul-shaking Country Style Christmas Revue – times two – to celebrate Christmas 2017. Led by the ARIA award winning Matt Walker, Lost Ragas – whose earth-quaking, cosmic-country stylings has been blowing minds since 2013, were delighted to accept – taking time out from the studio where they are working on their next album to join the festivities.
Steve Grady and Josh Rennie-Hynes, who make up The Ahern Brothers have been busy stealing hearts out on the road with their winning country folk ways – recently touring with Tex, Don & Charlie. Rounding out this wonderful lineup is the delightful Sarah Carroll who will take on the role of Mistress of Ceremonies at both shows – Sunday December 17 @ Howler, Brunswick and Friday December 22 at Theatre Royal. Castlemaine. Fellow music lovers – you are cordially invited to celebrate the beginning of another Christmas season with them.
