Danish composer and classically trained multi-instrumentalist, MYRKUR unveils her forthcoming album title Mareridt, out in the second half of the year on.
It is the follow up to her masterful debut M, released back in 2015 to overwhelming critical acclaim.
Mareridt was produced between Seattle and Copenhagen by Randall Dunn who is known for his work with Marissa Nadler, Earth, Sunn O))), Boris, Wolves In The Throne Room and more.
Mareridt includes special guests (to be announced) and an array of special instruments including violin, mandola, folk drums, Kulning (an ancient Scandinavian herding call) and the nyckelharpa (a Swedish key harp).
MYRKUR was recently captured at home in Copenhagen playing Scandinavian Folk on her nyckelharpa which she explains “is almost like a violin with buttons” and that the ancient traditional device as “not easy to get a hold of.”

Portland rockers RED FANG add to their canon of comedic clips, debuting the video for Cut It Short from their 2016 album, Only Ghosts
Whitey McConnaughy directed the clip, continuing the partnership that birthed videos for “Wires,” “Prehistoric Dog,” “Hank Is Dead” and most recently “Shadows”.
In the “Cut It Short” video, McConnaughy explores the inner dynamics of touring bands with hilarious accuracy.
Red Fang commented on the video: “Hey! We made a new video with our buddy Whitey, the director of such hits as “Prehistoric Dog,” “Wires,” “Hank is Dead,” and “The Big Lebowski.” It’s a real hoot of a riot! Come inside, where you will discover that after 12 years of being crammed in a van together, it is remarkable how little we get on each other’s nerves, push each other’s buttons, do anything annoying, bicker, or really ever fight at all! We especially don’t throw guitars and cymbals at each other because that would be wrong.”
