Regarding “Pyrrhic”, Benjamin Baret comments: “The riffs for that song are inspired by the great Göteborg scene of the late 90’s, with a more modern twist to it. The harmonized guitar part relies on a descending chromatic pattern, which gives the main riff its flavor. The break is a classical music inspired moment, the chord positions are very piano-like, which is something that I love to do, because it allows me to approach chord progressions in a fresher way; come with me off the beaten path!”
NE OBLIVISCARIS are currently working hard in studio to create a follow-up to their celebrated 2014 album ‘Citadel’,

Frontman Aðalbjörn “Addi” Tryggvason comments: “The song ‘Silfur-Refur’ revolves around having a sick ghost version of yourself taking control of your life. You resist with all you have, but you simply don’t stand a chance. It travels with you all the time, asleep or awake. The song was written in a few parts – with the intro being one of them. We knew right away that this would be the opener of the album.”

Regarding the track, ULSECT comment: “Our song ‘Unveil’ speaks of scorned omens and the revelation of inevitable consequence. The chaos and sudden transitions that initiate this track are contrasted by a moment of clarity, ultimately leading to a crushing and repetitive mantra; a symbolization of the vicious cycle in which death is a necessity for life to bloom.”

DISPERSE
Present Drum Play-Through Video
Following the prog shooting stars highly successful and at many venues sold out European tour with PLINI, DISPERSE drum progeny, Mike Malyan has released a new play-through video of the track “Surrender” taken from the band’s current full-length ‘Foreword’. The multi-cam video is now streaming at the link below.
The stick artist comments: “The song ‘Surrender’ is one of my favourites to play from ‘Foreword’. The challenge of its intricate dynamics in the simpler sections almost trumps the later parts with the complex time signatures. Thankfully there is a mini drum solo section at the end to make up for all of the earlier difficulties.”
“Aspiring Polish proggers fulfil their immense potential… DISPERSE have clicked into a higher gear here and the results will reduce prog and tech-metal fans alike to a mess of goosebumps.” Dom Lawson, Metal Hammer (UK) 9/10
