Northern Territorians Tapestry are today marking a return to the fore of the Australian heavy music scene with a brand new single and a heads-up to expect a brand new EP in the first quarter of 2018. Today they are returning with the first taste of that forthcoming EP – a single and video entitled ‘Dark Shade‘. A beautiful, melodic piece that hits right to the heart in the choruses, the band have crafted something extremely special and they are going to be hitting 2018 hard.

Tapestry are a young five-piece who formed in the middle of 2014 and wasted little to no time establishing themselves as a national presence.

The group exploded after their response from their first-show supporting Storm the Sky in March of that year. After releasing their first single ‘Bond’ in September of 2015, the group caught the attention of the public eye around Australia raking up support slots for Northlane and the annual festival ‘Terrorfestand embarked on an east coast tour supporting bands such as The Brave and Advocates. The response around that release has opened doors including their appearance on Darwin’s biggest music festival BASSINTHEGRASS 2016 alongside Violent Soho and Angus & Julia Stone and also including multiple support shows locally and interstate supporting bands such as Polaris and Hellions.

Their debut 2016 EP ‘Growth’ was recorded in Darwin by Australian producer Declan White, and it quickly reached number 4 on the iTunes Metal charts. Foldback Magazine proclaim that “Tapestry bring the cosmic nod in droves. And the way their songs have so much space in them lends itself to anyone hearing them to nod right along. I can’t mention the space in Tapestry’s work enough“. The band have won multiple awards including the 2016 NT Heavy Song of the Year award for their track ‘Bond’, 2016 NT Live Act of the Year for the National Live Music Awards and have showcased at Australia’s biggest music conference BIGSOUND 2016.
