Perth hard rockers The Date, made up of core members David Moran (bass/vocals) and Rob Susanto (guitar/vocals), are set to launch ‘Master Date’, their third and most driven album. The album thematically follows a journey of searching and resolving a number of issues in a multitude of different ways, resulting in the realisation that the only thing
you have left to rely on is yourself.
Preceded by two singles ‘Looking Down’ and ‘Ghost Notes’, lead track and current single ‘Crossing Open Ground’ is a testimony to the band’s strong live delivery and is unashamedly a great guitar statement – fluid, tonal and guiding. An example of the album’s recurring themes, the lyrics proclaim a show of belief and deliverance, never giving up though the trials maybe extreme but always believing that the effort will determine the outcome.
‘Master Date’ was recorded at Yo-Yo Studios in Perth with Malcolm Clark (The Sleepy Jackson, The Weapon Is Sound) and mastered by Simon Struthers (Eskimo Joe, Something For Kate).
