Utah-based quintet Dethrone the Sovereign is back with a brand new single, “Torch of Prometheus”, that will lead up to their debut full length, out this July via Famined Records.
Right from the start, expect a new and improved sound from the band: they manage to mix melody and aggressive riffing in an incredibly catchy way that is bound to leave listeners wanting more. The quintet is a breath of fresh air in the Progressive Metal and Deathcore worlds: don’t expect harsh vocals atop never-ending chugs, but instead, be prepared to be hit with crisp, clean riffs, pummeling drums, a vibrant bass line, and a vocal delivery that will blow you out of the water. When the band fires on all cylinders, it’s clear to see that they’ve worked hard to craft the perfect ambiance and vibe that permeates the album, and that can be easily found in “Torch of Prometheus”.
“Torch of Prometheus” is the second single taken from the album Harbingers of Pestilence, coming out this July, that the band has worked on with producer Stetson Whitworth (Chelsea Grin, Get Scared). An intriguing, ambitious and eclectic release that fans of Between the Buried and Me, Fallujah, and The Faceless will not want to miss out on.
The band briefly elaborated on the track: “Our newest single is about humans interfacing with artificial intelligence, or what is sometimes called the singularity. This track explores the concept of transcending human limitations of consciousness and mortality through advanced technology.”
