The Ruminaters kicked off 2017 with their ‘Summer Vacation’ Tour featuring appearances at Mountain Sounds, Secret Garden, Surfing World Camp and Party in The Park Festivals alongside their biggest headline shows to date and a trip to London’s legendary RAK Studios to record their debut album.
The first taste of new music from the lads comes in the form of a AA Side with single ‘I Wanna Fight’ cosied up next to a rumified cover of none other than Hot Chocolate’s ‘You Sexy Thing’. ‘I Wanna Fight’ is 2 minutes 41 seconds of guitar wielding, vocal throwing rock n roll in a masochistic take down accompanied by rebellious anthemic lyrics “I wanna fight, I wanna fight in public, I wanna be one of them guys” In complete contrast the Sydney quartet’s take on ‘You Sexy Thing’ is mellow twanging guitars and raspy vocals whilst still paying homage to the the 1975 funk classic.
Both tracks were recorded during the album sessions at RAK Studios home to David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, The Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead. the AA Side will be release as part of The RAK Singles Club in the UK.
