As the frontman of the Swedish AOR band HOUSTON the name Hank Erix might already be familiar to some who have followed the AOR / Melodic rockers over their last five releases. If not then this album will fit nicely into anyone’s collection who hankers after a bit of classic Melodic Rock.

Opening with the spirited hook-laden ‘Turn to Darkness; isn’t a bad start, and ‘Last Chance to Love’ that follows is cut from the same smooth cloth.

As an album this is one made up of songs that have been around for the ten years Hank has been with Houston, and finally here’s the chance to inject a little more hard rock. Here he’s ably supported by a team of musicians that includes members of Therion, Degreed, Art Nation, Wildness, Kryptonite , Palace, Gutterdämerung & Adrenaline Rush.

If you like what you heard first up then the album in truth offers more of the same with no real curve-balls or surprises though the Dokken-like ‘Fortune Hunter’ does inject a little more energy and the final track ‘For The Restless and Young’ hints at an even heavier edge Id love to have heard more of here.

All in all a very pleasing album from a very talented vocalist and song-writer.
