ALBUM REVIEW: Heaven’s Trail – Lethal Mind

Escape Music - October 26th 2018

Heaven’s Trail is a new German hard rock band formed by ex-Jaded Heart member Barish Kepic and whose line-up also includes another Jaded Heart alumni, Michael Müller. They are joined by Masterplan members Kevin Kott on drums and vocalist Rick Altzi.

What you get is a hard-edged Rock album with Metal  leanings and some killer tunes courtesy of Kepic but essentially after a while it starts to become a familiar blur. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad album and tracks like opener and title track ‘Lethal Mind’ and the excellent ‘Too Late’ give you hope of great things to come.

They don’t quite hit those highs again, though you could argue things remain consistent – and ‘Changes’ which takes the pace off a while is a nice mid-tempo rocker, nut when we jump back into the heavier fare like ‘Carousel’ and ‘Feed My Soul’ you start to crave something a little bit different.

Nice album but not a classic, though if you’re a fan of Masterplan or Jaded Heart you might find something more.
