Now that spring has well and truly sprung, there seems no finer time to announce the second round of artists coming on down to WA’s iconic musical adventure, Blues At Bridgetown, back for 2018 with a weekend’s worth of soul-stirring, heart-warming goodness from Friday-Sunday, November 9-11.
More than ever, it seems, Russell Morris is The Real Thing and it is with this in mind that we are proud to have him back for Blue At Bridgetown for the sixth consecutive year! Armed with Ghosts & Legends – a limited edition boxed set comprising his Sharkmouth, Van Dieman’s Land and Red Dirt Red Heat albums, plus a bonus DVD and book – Russell will play the songs of his career renaissance and the classics that landed him in our hearts, no doubt hitting us all for six.
Mandolins, ukulele and whistles – stories of travels across the globe, and the pull of home. Seeing Busby Marou is like catching up with old friends you’ve been hanging out to hear from. Their latest album, Postcards From The Shellhouse, debuted at #1 on the National ARIA charts followed by heavy touring which saw sold-out shows all over Australia and overseas. “This last year has been huge and watching the crowds sing along to these latest bunch of songs has definitely been our highlight,” says Tom Busby. It’s been said before, but it bears repeating that Blue Shaddy are the quintessential Blues At Bridgetown band. The love that Bridgey crowds have for Blue Shaddy is equalled only by the band’s love for the festival itself. They’ve been playing all over WA in 2018 and will be primed and ready to make new memories at this year’s Blues At Bridgetown.
The 19-Twenty lads have been performing their high-energy sonic-party nationally, headlining sell-out shows and festivals in all states and territories. Constantly on the road or in the sky, they have toured seven times around Australia and performed gigs throughout Europe including Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. They have become a latter-day Blues At Bridgetown favourite and are a highlight every time they play.
The Southern River Band are an electric rock’n’roll storm from… do ‘the tracks’ still mark the good and bad sides of town? If so, they’re from the wrong side – that’s where the cool guys live. For the last few years Bridgetown crowds have been front and centre for every SRB set and the word has gotten out as their joyous rock’n’roll mission sees them regularly hitting stages all over the nation. Southern River Band don’t just bring the party, they are the party.
