Blunt Shovel and Shatter Brain announce ‘Twelve Inch Split’ vinyl release and tour

Melbourne-based heavy metal heavyweights Blunt Shovel and up-and-coming South Australian riff-meisters Shatter Brain have announced a limited-edition split vinyl to be released in August! The aptly titled ‘Twelve Inch Split’ will offer three new tracks from each band, including original songs and covers of some of the band’s favourite metal classics.

Blunt Shovel’s tracks were recorded at Shovesy Studios by guitarist Luke Walton and were mixed and mastered by Tye ‘Tbones’ Pennington Engineering and mixing of the Shatter Brain side was handled by their guitarist Jack Hartley with mastering by David Caplinger. Shovesy’s hilarious and confronting artwork was expertly crafted by God-Awful (check out the censored version below) while ‘The Brain’ enlisted legendary Adelaide-based artist Steve Lehmann to bring ‘The Ship that Never Sinks’ to life.

To support the release of the split, Shovesy and The Brain will embark on a run of four shows in Victoria and South Australia over the first two weekends of August. The bands travel to Ballarat on the 3rd and Melbourne on the 4th, whilst the Adelaide (10.08) and Warrnambool (11.08) shows will feature the mighty King Parrot for their last Australian shows before heading off to support Phillip H Anselmo and the Illegals in the USA.
