Two months. Eight weeks. Approximately fifty-eight dull days until rural Victoria’s Easter Weekend horizons will be brightened by the mighty BOOGIE FESTIVAL. Hotter than than the sun. We’re stoked to add the musical stylings of THE MURLOCS, TROPICAL FUCK STORM, AMYL & THE SNIFFERS and MILDLIFE to the ranks.
Well, previous Boogie alumni THE MURLOCS will be exerting their expert riff-laden swagger, pumping out tight-knit garage r’&’b. These sexy buggers are right off the back of wooing crowds at Gizzfest with their blues-borne world weariness.
Next, TROPICAL FUCK STORM. More than just the best band name this side of Timbuktu. Two parts The Drones. One part High Tension. One part Harmony. 100% swirling, snarling art-punk-psych-experimental-rock awesomeness. Guitars and keys and other gadgets. Don’t miss their Boogie debut.
AMYL & THE SNIFFERS. Crikey. Fronted by aggressive, snarling, charming, kick-ass Amy Taylor; punk personified. Expect razor-sharp riffs, stories from the mean streets of Melbourne, and pub rock that’d give the Cosmic Psychos a run for their money in the true-blue stakes. Simple: they are just the bloody best. Talk of the town.
MILDLIFE take the musical canvas, rip the lids off the paint tins, and throw vibrant slashes of colour into kaleidoscopic jams. A dedicated live band. An out of body experience. A cosmic funk house band for a party at the edge of the universe.
Forget not that the rest of this bevvy of musical beauty also includes DEER TICK, ANGEL OLSEN, CASH SAVAGE & THE LAST DRINKS, CLOWNS, THANDO, and a heckton more. Cast your gaze on the full line-up below.
Boogie 12: one big stage, one wacky clubhouse, one hillbilly late night disco, one mysterious shearing shed, many bars, scrumptious and nourishing food outlets, Boogie bucks, and a bevy of like-minded splendid humans getting involved in the party of their lives! A real mixed bag. United in awesomeness alongside elevated punters under the Boogie banner. Prep your consciousness for a weekend of weird and wonderful extracurricular activities.
Tickets on sale online at boogie.net.au or in real life via Greville Records. You know what to do.
