GWAR Releases Video For Viking Death Machine, MOTHER FEATHER Streams New Single, Snakebite, HAMFERD Releases Live Video Of Stygd, ARTILLERY Reveals Details For New Album, ‘The Face Of Fear’
GWAR is pleased as a bowl of bloody punch to share with you the new video for their epic song “Viking Death Machine,” taken from their latest opus, 2017’s The Blood of Gods, a masterpiece of obscenity chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world.
The video was created by Makinita Silva, an Ecuadorian masked Luchador who is also an independent 2-D animator.
Of the video, Blothar has the following to say: “Humans, are you ready to ride the ‘Viking Death Machine’? Our latest video is a faithful animated schlockumentary depicting my harrowing, blood-drenched defeat of the Load Warriors and the other denizens of Saturday morning raceway hijinks, including all of my fellow bandmates in GWAR. I am delighted to take my rightful place as the King of Cartoon Violence, and champion of the first annual Suck-It-Up-Butter Cup! Watch the video now! It’ll make you shit.”

Adding more fuel to the fire, NYC’s Mother Feather is releasing their second pulsing single today in anticipation of their sophomore album. The out-for-blood “Snakebite” clocks in at under two minutes without a second to spare. Explains lead singer Ann Courtney, “An homage to the evil impulse and the speed of its ambush, I wrote ‘Snakebite’ in a hot 20 minutes. With its production setting it in the cinematic imagination of an 80s punk cult-film, this is the riotous theme song for your psycho ex-girlfriend with an axe to grind.”
New York City’s Mother Feather have perfected the formula to pay homage to the roots of punk’n’roll and heavy rock injected with their own brand of the divine feminine, and since their debut album have been keeping the audience on their toes. The evolution of their high-energy “pop cock rock” surges forward this November 2nd with their sophomore album Constellation Baby, out via Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records, and available for pre-order now here – where you can also stream the previous single, “Red Hot Metal”.

Faroese doomsters Hamferð have released a live recorded video of “Stygd”, the 2nd track from their new album, Tamsins likam, released on Metal Blade earlier this year. The song is part of the recorded album release show on March 17th, 2018 at the old Sjonleikarahusið theater in Torshavn, Faroe Islands.
Tamsins likam was played in its entirety, as well as a selection of older songs, including “Odn” – the band’s very first song, which, although being a live staple, was never released.
Singer Jon Aldara comments: “This concert was a meticulous production in regards to performance, sound and lighting, and we felt it was the perfect opportunity to record it properly. It’s a great feeling to have a live recording of Hamferð that does not come from an iPhone or from a festival production that we had little to no control over. We took everything in our own hands and went the whole nine yards with a brilliant crew, well-considered stage design and all the high-end equipment we could get our hands on. Luckily, I really think it shows!”

November 16th will see Artillery release their new album, The Face Of Fear – which is the successor to 2016’s Penalty By Perception.
The Face Of Fear is the band’s 9th studio album, and the third with the current line-up. For a preview of the record, a video for the title track can be viewed now at www.metalblade.com/artillery where The Face Of Fear can also be pre-ordered in various formats.
The lyrics are Artillery as you know them, with subjects concerning the destruction of mankind, double standards, abuse and the looming worst-case scenarios. The Face Of Fear was recorded with long-time producer Soren Andersen at Medley Studios. It’s Soren’s fifth time at the helm, and once again he manages to deliver a monster production. Soren comments: “Pure and raw! Some of the material of this album was originally written in the early 80’s, and that inspired us to go old school this time. Not too many layers, just classic Artillery thrash metal…And Bastholm is better than ever on this one. This is a no-filler album, created together with the band. I’m really proud of the final result and I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as I do!”
Artillery comments about the video for “The Face Of Fear”: “Most of the scenes for the video were shot at Amager strand park right outside of Copenhagen. And the live scenes go back to when the band visited Japan and played at the Thrash Dominations together with Exodus, Voivod and Sanctuary. The video was shot by the band’s good friend Terkel Christensen, who also did the video ‘When The Magic is Gone’, from the last album, ‘Penalty By Perception’. The song is about dealing the end of man by himself. We create our own phobia about the destruction of the world, but remain disrespectful to the globe.”
