Redemption - Long Night's Journey Into DayRedemption recently eleased their seventh full-length, Long Night’s Journey into Day – the first to be produced with Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Primal Fear, Amaranthe, Doro, etc.).

Today, the band has released a new track from the album: “New Year’s Day“, a cover version of U2‘s classic song – which can be heard HERE.

Long Night’s Journey Into Day is inarguably the sound of a band at the height of their powers. As followers of Redemption are also aware, it is the first full-length since the departure of vocalist Ray Alder, and features the debut of Evergrey vocalist Tom Englund. “We were unable to tour ‘The Art Of Loss’ because Ray was not able to actively participate in Redemption any longer, so we decided it was time to part company shortly after its release. Ray is a dear friend, and I have nothing but respect and love for him and what we created together. But at some point, it just became untenable.”

Of course, Alder’s shoes were not exactly going to be easy to fill, and it was essential that his successor be someone who would immediately command respect, as well as somebody who could exceed expectations when it came to performance. Moreover, it was integral that they had someone who could fully invest in the lyrical themes concerning the human condition, which have always been central to Redemption. So, the fact that from the beginning of his career Englund has penned lyrics about feelings of doubt, fear and despair with an unshakable emotional authenticity made him the perfect choice. “Because of the power of his voice and the emotion he brings, this isn’t going to be a shocking transition for fans. Tom’s also a very versatile vocalist, and being a songwriter, he has a tremendous melodic and compositional sensibility, and on top of that, we’ve known each other for many years, and there is a level of not just professional respect but personal friendship to it all.”

Guitarists Chris Poland (Megadeth, OHM) and Simone Mularoni (DGM) return as guest musicians. When it came to backing up the music with visuals, the band once again turned to a longtime collaborator, Travis Smith, whose humbling resumé includes records by bands such as Art Of Defiance, Opeth and Iced Earth.

Monstrosity - The Passage Of ExistenceOn September 7th, Metal Blade Records will release The Passage Of Existence, the new studio album by Florida death metal legends Monstrosity!

For a preview of The Passage Of Existence, the 2nd single, “Kingdom of Fire”, can be heard now HERE.

Monstrosity’s Lee Harrison (drums) comments: “First off, I present to you the master piece of masterpieces in the Monstrosity universe. This album requires a certain justice though and I ask you, as the listener, to properly step up to the task. Don’t play this recording on a cheap portable radio or your tiny ear buds. This album was built to be played loud on a killer system. Do yourself that favor, at least for the first few times you play it. I know it’s so horribly cliché to say ‘Play it Loud’, but I can honestly say this album is made for that. Listen to it multiple times, too. These songs are going to ‘pop’ live, too. Can’t wait to bring these songs to the stage. I’m curious to see the opinions. The response by the fans to the teaser clip we posted was super positive, so I’ll be so glad when the single is released and the years of hard work finally come to fruition. Hope to see you guys on the road soon and blast it!”

Lee Harrison recorded his drum tracks at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with veteran metal producer Jason Suecof. A week was spent creating rock solid drum tracks. Guitar and bass tracks were handled at Ascension Sound in Tampa with the vocal tracks being recorded at Obituary’s “Redneck Studios” in Gibsonton, Florida. The mix was handled by producer Mark Lewis (Megadeth, etc), and the resulting 2018 album, The Passage Of Existence, was born. 12 tracks of masterfully crafted death metal for the modern era from the standard bearers of extreme art. Monstrosity still stand taller than ever, still delivering their brand of state of the art sonic devastation!

EndseekerSince 2015, the name Endseeker has stood for the finest Swedish styled death metal from Hamburg, Germany. It’s hard as a fist and uncompromising – like binge drinking on St. Pauli – but with a big chunk of heart and soul to it.

Metal Blade and Endseeker are both excited to announce the signing of a multiple album deal. Comments the band: “Becoming part of the mighty Metal Blade family is literally a dream coming true that we didn’t even dare to wish for when we started the band a couple of years ago. To see ourselves in line with all these legendary artists makes each of us push us even harder and we’re totally on fire to work with the great people of Metal Blade on our upcoming album. Bring the booze and let’s raise some hell!”

2015’s EP, ‘Corrosive Revelation’, released on F.D.A. Records, set the benchmark for things to come. Produced by Eike Freese (Dark Age) and Alexander Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn), there was hardly any review not praising the band’s debut. From then on, Endseeker served their sound to numerous metal fans all over Germany.

In October 2017, Endseeker released their highly anticipated full-length, ‘Flesh Hammer Prophecy’ – once again recorded and produced by Eike Freese at the famous Chameleon Studios in the heart of Hamburg. On this record, the band also got some assistance from death metal icon Marc Grewe (Insidious Disease, ex-Morgoth), who laid down guest vocals on the song ‘Black Star Rising’, plus took part in the music video. Bending the knee to the Swedish heroes from the early 90’s, but still keeping a distinctive level of originality, the resulting ‘Flesh Hammer Prophecy’ album left fans, old and new, just as excited as the press:

“On ‘Flesh Hammer Prophecy’, Endseeker performs death metal like it’s supposed to be – brutally honest and honestly brutal!” (metal.de)
“The new record is great joy to listen to but also kicks you in the face.” (Legacy)
“…it’s suitable to call it a death metal highlight of the year.” (xxl-rock.de)

Endseeker was voted “Death Metal climber of the year” by the editors of Metal Hammer Germany in 2017 and ended up on position 5 in the reader’s poll of Rock Hard Germany in the category “newcomer of the year”. The album also got a stunning 9.5 out of 10 review in Deaf Forever magazine.

After sharing the stage with bands like Cannibal Corpse, Hatebreed, Mantar, Kvelertak, Warpath, Lifeless, Demonbreed, among others, plus appearing at several festivals like Summer Breeze Open Air, In Flammen, Grind The Nazi Scum, Weltturbojugendtage, Holsteiner Death Fest, Swamp Fest, Ear Terror Festival, Headache Inside and many more, Endseeker will be headlining the tent stage on Thursday at Party.San Open Air 2018, with more tour activities to follow, before entering the studio in 2019.

Satan - Cruel MagicOn September 7th, Metal Blade Records will release Cruel Magic, the new album by English NWOBHM legends Satan!

For a preview of Cruel Magic, CLICK HERE to stream the 2nd single, “Into The Mouth Of Eternity”!

Satan comments about the new single: “Playing this song in rehearsals is such a rollercoaster, and it’s obvious already that it’s going to be part of the Satan live show for some time to come. This song has been in the making since 2014 and we are so excited to finally unleash it on the new record. It’s our album opener, so turn up the volume and hold on!”

Bearers of the NWOBHM movement and responsible for ’83’s seminal Court In the Act and ’87’s Suspended Sentence, Satan make it abundantly clear with their upcoming new album that in 2018, they are not interested in simply capitalizing on past glories. Comprised of 10 tracks of searing metal, it is blatantly and profoundly the work of the Newcastle upon Tyne natives at their very best, infusing their signature sound with a more raw, wild and spontaneous vibe than they showcased on 2015’s mighty Atom By Atom – and in the process, displaying more passion and energy than slews of bands half their age.

Tracking the album at First Avenue Studio, they further demonstrated their trust and rapport with past collaborators, recruiting engineer Dave Curle and Dario Mollo to handle the mix, letting them handle the technical side of things so the quintet could focus all of their energies on giving the best performances. Confident in the songs they had written and how they wanted them to sound made the process a very easy one, walking out of the studio with a record of which they are understandably proud, and will reign supreme in the speakers and headphones of metalheads the world over when it drops in September. “We truly feel we’ve got it 100% right this time, the balance between considered content and reckless performance. We always break loose on stage so why not on record?”

Cruel Magic track-listing:
1. Into The Mouth Of Eternity
2. Cruel Magic
3. The Doomsday Clock
4. Legions Hellbound
5. Ophidian
6. My Prophetic Soul
7. Death Knell For A King
8. Who Among Us
9. Ghosts Of Monongah

NothgardEpic melodic death metallers Nothgard from Germany have finished the recordings for their new album Malady X and are proud to present the first song to the masses!

Head over to www.metalblade.com/nothgard to check out the stunning video for the title track “Malady X” –

Bandleader Dom R. Crey states: “With ‘Malady X’, we have created an album that is both dark and serious, but on the other hand rife with catchy melodies – while not compromising our individual sound at all, on the contrary: I am sure we have defined the Nothgard-style more clearly than ever on this album. This is why we are really happy to present our first new material to you in the shape of a music video!”

The clip for “Malady X” was recorded in one take, meaning without interruptions and based on a specific choreography to make an authentic impression. The result is nothing less than breathtaking!

Dom R. Crey adds: “Of course, ‘Malady X’ takes on an important role because it’s the title track. It represents everything that we, deep inside, find disturbing about society and current ways of thinking. We consciousl address it in the lyrics – no-go’s and issues in daily life which should actually be perceived as such, but instead, we have lost awareness of them. Rather than standing in for our convictions, we choose to live according to false values.”

Nothgard has recorded Malady X at Def-Creation and & Southern Deathcult studios and called the renowned Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Kreator, Opeth, etc.) for mastering duties.
The result is an album full of epic melodic death metal anthems!

2. Malady X
3. Shades Of War
4. Guardians Of Sanity
