North Queenslanders Sanctum & Solace release single ‘1096’ from upcoming ‘Made Wrong’ EP

Sanctum & Solace

If you reckon you are pissed off about this summer’s heat? Spare a thought for Mackay’s Sanctum & Solace, who are dropping fire AF hardcore tracks, straight out of the thick AF tropical humidity of North Queensland. Today, they are releasing ‘1096‘, new single from their EP ‘Made Wrong‘, which will be released on Friday February 23rd on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and all good digital outlets.

The ‘1096‘ lyric video drops today as well, telling a pretty damning story of being an alcoholic and the terrible effects of such addiction. The lyrics follow a first-person point-of-view perspective on a person’s mental struggle with the addiction and it’s effects.

The band have been in operation since 2013 and have found themselves with a strong foothold in the Queensland heavy music scene due to an undeniably awesome work and tour ethic, playing a tonne of shows this year and last and have been packing out shows up and down the QLD coast.

The outfit put out singles Taedium Vitae and Slave in  2017 to an awaiting fanbase, which was the first taste of this new music. They received some love from triple j’s Short. Fast. Loud., Hysteria, Heavy Mag, The Faction and more. Along the way, they have played along side the likes of Aussie bands Deadlights, Vitals, Promethean, Stepson and She Cries Wolf, the band has received overwhelming responses from everywhere they’ve played.

Their new EP ‘Made Wrong‘, was mixed and mastered by Gareth Hargreaves at Tall Tree Studios which has now sadly closed down. Gareth Hargreaves at Tall Tree Studios recorded the band’s energetic take on hardcore music, using all live takes of the band in the studio – capturing the energy of the band’s brutal energy on stage.

James Levin, guitarist for the band, wants everyone to know “Made Wrong is the sum total of our energy and output of last year – we are more than keen to put these tracks out into the world so everyone else can get around them. More touring and more new music this year for us. Can’t Wait.”
