Machine Head - Kaleidoscope

A round up of the latest news from Nuclear Blast artists including a new video from Machine Head, Paradise Lost to re-release Host album, Letters From The Colony unveil new lyric video and Michael Schenker Fest releases Ressurection album trailer.

San Francisco Bay Area metal titans MACHINE HEAD, will release their highly anticipated new album »Catharsis« on January 26 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Today, the band has released the brand new track, ‘Kaleidoscope’.

“I feel like metal could really infiltrate the mainstream with this album. And it needs to… now more than ever. A lot of consideration went into making these songs more identifiable to a wider audience. Simplifying ideas, simplifying hooks, really concentrating on story-telling as opposed to ‘brutal poetry’ or whatever. And while I’d love to say it was all some grand plan, there was no ‘plan’” Flynn adds laughing. “You never know where you’re going to end up whenever you start writing a record… you just write… but I tell ya what… we ended up with a landmark here. Whenever you finish an album, you always feel proud, but this time… we’ve got something really special. We can feel it. We know it. »Catharsis« could really elevate our genre.”

Paradise Lost - HostOn March 16th, Britain’s cult metallers PARADISE LOST will release a remastered version of their legendary seventh studio album, »Host«, and a first-ever pressing of the songs on vinyl.
Originally released in 1999, »Host« earned PARADISE LOST their reputation as West Yorkshire’s musical chameleon, as it saw the band moving further away from their previous death metal roots to a melancholic and catchier electropop sound.

Singer Nick Holmes comments: “With the »Host« album we wanted to take the »One Second« concept further and make a very dark album with even more subtlety. It was a bold leap from all our previous albums, a leap too far some would say, but for me, the new remastered version really shows it’s still one of the bands strongest albums in terms of song writing, atmosphere and sheer misery.”

The album will be available as digipack and in three different vinyl colours (black, clear and mint) for the first time ever. Pre-order starts today, you can get your copy here.

The band’s latest doom metal monster Medusa is now in stores and has been voted ‘best release of 2017’ by several magazines such as Decibel or Rock Hard Italy.
