Official Press Release: The Rockpit announces Rockpit Records & online store

Rockpit Records

The Rockpit has been one of the leading Hard Rock and Metal online media outlets growing each year since its formation in 2009 now with a current global reach of over 300,000 readers per month. Some major changes and additions in recent years has allowed The Rockpit to expand into other areas including the launch of our own online webstore and the formation of Rockpit Records.

Part of the ethos of the Rockpit has always been to promote the local as much as the global and over the years the team has helped publicise, push and draw the attention of overseas audiences to hundreds of local acts, and that drive to share great local music (wherever it is from) will never cease.

The online store is the most recent addition to the company which officially launched in the first week of 2018 and features the availability of music collectables and memorabilia in the form of music accessories, artist prints and signed items as well as the sale of Rockpit Record artist music & merchandise. An official Rockpit t-shirt is also available for pre-order which is set to be released on February 19th.

In 2016 The Rockpit launched its own Management offering, and whilst we assist and have assisted many bands over the years we now formally manage three artists, each of them signed to Rockpit Records in Australia (and negotiating overseas deals).

The whole purpose of the Management and Label service is to help promote local artists and assist them in career development, financial management, tour scheduling and most importantly assisting in the creation of ongoing relationships with partners in the entertainment world. On a smaller scale we can assist with the smallest of tasks or simply help get artists music released and listened to.

Our current management roster includes:

Nucleust are a progressive metal band from Perth , first forming in 2013 and who began working with The Rockpit in early 2016 after scoring the support slot with Swedish metal band Soilwork. Since that time the band have gone on to perform with such acts as Lacuna Coil, Twelve Foot Ninja, Voyager, Haken and most recently embarked on a European tour supporting the legendary Six Feet Under. Their first release with Rockpit Records, the critically acclaimed EP “Resistivity” went on to win the 2016/2017 Western Australian Music best heavy metal award for the track “Of King And Tree” with an accompanying video that featured on the iconic cult music show RAGE on ABC. The band have since released their debut full length album “Terra Cerebral” mixed and mastered by Forrester Savell with a 2 month national tour across Australia that followed.

Maverick is a band who deal in experiences – and on their debut album ‘Firebird’ they show a real understanding of the essence of what made 70’s rock so completely captivating that you’ll swear these guys had to have lived through it. Big, bold, loud and with guitar that screams, it could be ‘Humble Pie’ on an extended jam! It’s monumental rock built to defy styles, changing trends and time itself – Pure Unbranded, Unbroken Rock’n’Roll. Maverick is Guitarist/Vocalist Craig Jovanovic, Drummer Nick Dudman, Bassist Simon Hallett and Lead Guitarist Mark De Vattimo (Psychonaut). The Rockpit’s signing of Mavarick has already led to a European deal and there are huge things to come in 2018 including a second album.

Bayview SuspectBayview Suspect are a groove metal band from Perth that incorporates a varied mix of influences that result in a sound that has been described as the lovechild of Whitechapel and Lamb Of God. While still relatively young forming in 2014, the band have been hitting the live circuit in and around the local Perth metal scene since 2015 consistently that shows a determination and passion for the music they create. Their debut EP release “For Whom It May Concern” caught the attention of The Rockpit and subsequent singles that followed secured the band a management deal with Rockpit Records. Bayview Suspect most recently launched their official website at bayviewsuspect.com and are currently writing new songs for an upcoming EP with a tour to follow.
