Perth’s Psychedelic Porn Crumpets aren’t a band to do things by halves. Having enjoyed a sold out tour through Europe and the UK in September, the four piece have returned home triumphant as we enter the final months of the year. Taking home two WAM Awards this month for ‘Most Popular Live Act’ and ‘Best Music Video’ for their single ‘Social Candy’, the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets are now deep in preparation for the next item on 2018’s huge to-do list: the DR. NOGGIN-FLOGGIN & THE LIQUID FRIENDS FESTIVAL!
The first edition of Dr. Noggin-Floggin saw the band curate a stellar, sold out festival line-up in 2017 and this year’s event will be no different. Killer music that reflect the strength in the West Australian music community.
Though the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have spent much of 2018 abroad making waves, this hometown return is an important show for the band. Surrounded by talented peers, the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have established an event that sees their scene shine and entice fans from around the country to sit up and take notice of just what they’re missing out on the West Coast! “Perth will forever be our home, this is where we grew up, learnt our instruments and developed our musical tastes thanks to the amazing local acts that inspired us. Dr. Noggin-Floggin & The Liquid Friends Festival will not only feature the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets headlining, but the likes of Superego FKA Pow! Negro, Flossy, Grievous Bodily Harm, Butter and Floors – a veritable smorgasbord of WA talent, waiting to be immersed in. We’re talking three stages with sixteen bands scheduled across them, with live art to accompany the music. With the fine folk at Young Henry’s providing drink specials through the night too, consider this year’s Dr. Noggin-Floggin to be the December party to be at.
If that wasn’t enough Psychedelic Porn Crumpet action, the Perth group have announced details of their UK return in 2019. Their sold out September tour, coupled with their successes on UK radio, securing airplay on Radio X, BBC 6 Music while featuring on BBC 1 ‘New Names’ with Annie Mac and signing to Wildlife Entertainment (home of Royal Blood, Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets), indicated early on that this part of the world in particular was hungry for what the band was serving. Come February 2019, UK fans will be able to get another dose of the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, with the tour kicking off in Bristol and continuing around the UK until their final show in London at the end of the month.
