Punk rock ‘Simpsons’ tribute continues with Mane and Emmy Hour

Dan Cribb - Simpsons tribute

Perth muso Dan Cribb has passed the 20 track mark on his ongoing tribute to The Simpsons, with Adelaide powerhouse vocalist Mane and Brisbane punk rocker Emmy Hour the latest guest vocalists to sign on.

Character theme songs are the focus this month, with Mane providing epic harmonies to The Ballad Of Jebediah Springfield, while Hour gives a gritty twist to the McBain theme song.

“I think Mane’s haunting and commanding voice might make The Ballad Of Jebediah Springfield one of Worst Tribute Ever’s biggest songs yet,” Cribb said.

Hour fronts Brisbane band The Cutaways, and lends her vocals to the epic McBain theme song, Blessed Be The Guy That Bonds; a tune that appears in season two episode Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? where Homer meets his half-brother, Herbert Powell.

“Emmy was initially going to be a guest vocalist at our Worst Tribute Ever Brisbane show last September, but we couldn’t make the timing work, so the conversation turned to the recording and I’m glad it did,” Cribb said.

The two new songs are now streaming via Bandcamp alongside Monorail (featuring ClownsHanny J), Scorpio (featuring Luca Brasi’s Tye Richardson), Flaming Moe’s (featuring Alex Lahey) and more.

Mega hits Who Needs The Kwik-E-Mart, See My Vest and more are still to come.
