The Living End drop new video for ‘Otherside’ ahead of AFL Grand Final appearance

The Living End

It’s been a mammoth week for one of Australia’s most loved and enduring bands. Today The Living End released their eighth studio album Wunderbar. Recorded over a six week period in Berlin during an inspired recording session with producer Tobias Kuhn, the album contains eleven blistering tracks the band are extremely proud of. There’s a contagious new energy around these songs and The Living End.. and you can feel it. Wunderbar is a portrait of the band as they are in 2018: fiercely proficient, proudly rebellious, and emotionally resonant.

The first taste of Wunderbar came in the form of electric single ‘Don’t Lose It’. The accompanying video featured an all-star cast of Australian musicians and media personalities (get a refresher HERE). Next we heard the raw and stripped album cut ‘Amsterdam’ which adds a different colour/texture to the album and stands out immediately. This week, to lead into album release – The Living End dropped a new single and video for the anthemic ‘Otherside’. Front man Chris Cheney explains the song further..

The guitar riff was something we kicked around in Melbourne but the bulk of the song was written in Berlin. Once we wrote the chorus It was immediately a standout track on the record. The message of Otherside is simple, the grass isn’t greener. Walk your own path, don’t compare and don’t waste precious time wishing you had more.”

The Living End have been making their way around the country this week to promote the album, performing live yesterday for Triple M’s Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire on AFL Grand Final Eve Eve. The band brought the house down last night with a stirring rendition of their hit single ‘Don’t Lose It’ on Channel Nine’s AFL Grand Final Footy Show (watch HERE). Today The Living End will directly interact with their fans by hosting a live Facebook Q&A from 12.30pm AEST plus a Wunderbar album signing at JB HI-FI Oxford Street, Sydney from 4.00pm.

Come November, fans will get the chance to hear Wunderbar in all its live glory (plus a swag of old hits) as The Living End take the album on the road to theatres across the country. The Wunderbar Tour will kick off on November 1 in Brisbane with Adelaide powerhouse West Thebarton as main supports. All tickets for the tour are on sale now.
