ALBUM REVIEW: Demons Sing of the End – Wake Up and Enjoy the Ride

Independent - 13th August 2018

With barely hidden influences that range from Kiss to The Sunset Strip circa 1987 the oddly-titled Demons Sing of the End’s second album ‘Wake Up and Enjoy the Ride’ picks up where the last left off with a clutch of great songs, a few decent ones and a production job that still leaves a certain amount to be desired but has improved greatly this time around.

There’s some great songs here like opener ‘(We’re Gonna) Wake The Whole Damn Town’; ‘Sure Look Great (Six Feet Under)’; the title track and ‘The Devil’s In The Detail’ probably the pick of them. So if you like your Hard Rock with a bit of crunch and power with a definite 80’s vibe then this is worth checking out. This time round there’s even a ballad in the form of ‘When It’s Cold Outside; but it’s not a patch on the harder fare here.

Demons Sing of the End is a strange name for a ‘band’ that sounds like this and as it’s all essentially UK rocker Rob Lewis playing everything here and handling all of the other chores its hard to get a handle on what the next steps are, if any, for this project.
