EP REVIEW: Sin Savage – Sin Savage

Sin Savage previously known as ‘Nightmare (BE)’ has been doing the rounds since 2011 and was founded by Kristof Michiels, Zan Geeraerts and Jasper Vanderheyden – they play a mix of what you might call Hard Rock and Heavy Metal very reminiscent of what they used to put out back in the day. 4 years later they dropped their debut album ‘Dirt’ – a collection of great rhythms, screaming guitars, with plenty of speed and quieter moments that created a nice balance. Fast forward to 2018 and Kristof’s departure and the recruitment of Andreas Timmerman on guitar and here we have it – a new start, a new  EP and four new songs.

The four tracks here are harder, and faster that on their debut and hence the change of name. This is music that will rip your head off and it will still be banging hen it hits the ground. If you like it loud then try ‘Lost in the Dark’ the opening track that acts as a fast-paced vintage Metal throw-down or ‘Hot on Your Trail’ that follows with a kick of Hard Rock and more of a groove. If you need further convincing the other pair here are just as good: ‘Down to the Ground’ adds some searing guitars and no words, whilst ‘Through the Gates’ slows it down, glowers and just leaves you wanting more.

It’s not big, not clever, and not new, but it hits the spot.
