Bare Bones return to form with huge new single ‘Crawl The Night’

Bare Bones

Sydney punk rockers, Bare Bones, are back on the scene with their brand new single ‘Crawl The Night‘, the first offering of new tunes since the debut album Bad Habits dropped in May of 2017! The new single is once again to be released through iconic Sydney label Resist Records.

‘Crawl The Night’ is produced by Stevie Knight at Electric Sun (Tonight Alive, Dream On Dreamer, Yours Truly) and is mixed by James Paul Wisner (Underoath, Paramore, Hands Like Houses) and is about turning to destructive behaviour when the going gets tough and exploring the consequences of those decisions.

The track features a segment from author, philosopher and humanist Eliezer Wiesel’s quote: ‘A destruction, an annihilation that only man can provoke, and only man can prevent’, which accentuates the themes of this beastly track. Vocalist Thomas Kennedy explains that ‘Crawl The Night’ is about “being at your wits end with the war within your mind and your mental state, the inability to shoot straight with yourself and make changes and instead turning to self destructive tendencies. It explores the ups, downs, trials and tribulations that come with those choices.”

Bare Bones is Thomas Kennedy (vocals), James Dean (guitar), Scott Daniels (guitar), James Clarke (bass) and Chris Blancato (drums). The five piece materialised in 2013, and the band wasted no time in taking their sweaty, visceral and feisty sound to the masses, quickly carving out their own path in the Australian music landscape. Taking the DIY recording and producing approach on their first two EP’s Villains and Cut Throat Living paid dividends, seeing Bare Bones land marquee support set slots with Black Label Society, Northlane, Every Time I Die and Cancer Bats within their first three years of formation. Moreover, Bare Bones were selected to play main stage at the final ever Soundwave Festival in Sydney, and UNIFY Heavy Music Gathering.

Fast forward to 2019 and Bare Bones are celebrating a year of being signed to iconic heavy music label Resist Records (Parkway Drive, Polaris, La Dispute), where they released their first full length record, Bad Habits in May last year. The fierce album, as stated by the highly acclaimed Rolling Stone Magazine, is “a hit record of the genre”. With the release of Bad Habits came a huge date-heavy tour schedule with rock legends from Stone Sour, Rise Against, The Bronx and Prophets of Rage.

With a new guitarist in the ranks and having worked towards new material alongside talented producer Stevie Knight and renowned mix engineer James Paul Wisner, Bare Bones are set to release their sophomore album by the end of 2019. Additionally, with a string of high profile supports and heavyweight shows under their belt, including Brisbane’s Dead of Winter Festival held between The Tivoli and The Jubilee Hotel on July 12th, Bare Bones are destined to make a lasting impact on both the Australian and global music scene. The band will also be launching their single in both Sydney at Oxford Art Factory Gallery on Friday August 9 and Melbourne at Last Chance Rock N Roll Bar on Saturday August 10.

‘Crawl The Night’ is out now and available through iTunes & Apple Music/Spotify/Google Play and all good online stores and streaming outlets. Tickets to the Sydney launch show available at Moshtix and tickets for the Melbourne launch show available at Oztix.
