There is a buzz about town, a humming sound of amps at the ready. Black Whiskey are about to launch the release of their latest single & start their up and coming mini-tour.
Black Whiskey have been on the rise in popularity amongst the lovers of great Aussie Rock. Their current track ‘Raising Hell’ is on rotation both here and overseas and these guys are taking off.
The last few months have been spent recording their EP ‘Wild & Free’ and they are set to release the first single from it. Black Whiskey toiled for months to find a quality mixer & master in Australia that was could bring life to the new single Wild & Free. Unfortunately many were too busy with other projects… frustrated that time was passing quickly they asked for advice…. This advice lead them to a sliding doors type situation & their music was sent on & heard overseas.
New single ‘Wild & Free’ mixed in California by Michael James – Producer and being mastered in LA by the legendary man himself Dave Donnelly is about to be born. Michael James is well known in USA & had a side career as head of A&R for Warner Music Discovery. James has also been featured as a guest writer for Billboard magazine. James & Donnelly have a lifetime of impressive projects & credits including the who’s who of rock & music -Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Reverend Horton Heat, Hammerfall, Hole, Poison, Ratt, L7, SIxx A.M, Steve Vai, Journey, Chicago, Whitesnake, AJ Croce, Robben Ford, Janes Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, George Michael, Blink 182, Slash – The list goes on & on …..
Black Whiskey clearly have something that these two legends like, and judging by their impressive clientele list, If these two are mixing and mastering this band you know Black Whiskey have something special. Anticipation for the EP of the same name is high, we hope Michael James & Dave Donnelly are also involved in that, it will be huge.
Wild & Free is due out before the band hit the road for a mini tour, supported by Rose Carleo Band , another heavyweight in the Aussie Rock scene. If you love good old arse kicking rock – you would be mad to miss these guys ! Get along to see them.
Black Whiskey are at the Backroom July 20th & Crowbar Brisbane July 28th. The mini tour is kicking off in August. This tour will showcase Black Whiskey & New Australian Rock at its finest. Starting at The Hideaway Bar Enmore NSW on August 22nd, finishing up with Rockin for The Homeless Concerts with Superjesus & You Am I on the 30 & 31st August.
