Catfish and the Bottlemen drop new video for “Conversation”

Catfish and the Bottlemen

Previously unseen, candid images of Catfish and the Bottlemen in the studio, on the road and enjoying down time feature in the video for ‘Conversation‘, the latest single to emerge from the band’s third album, The Balance – out now via Island Records / Caroline Australia. The video blends shots from the band’s private archive to create an intimate portrait of life in one of Britain’s most-successful and tight-knit bands.

Produced by Trunk Animation, who also created the 2018 animated promo for The Beatles’ Glass Onion, the short film animates and treats photographs with swathes of colour – an exciting change in visual approach for the typically monochromatic quartet.

The video lands just ahead of Catfish and The Bottlemen touching down in Australia for a headline spot on Splendour in the Grass this weekend, alongside Spin Off Festival and a string of headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth – see dates below…

Splendour In The Grass trails a jam-packed summer circuit that saw them command headline slots across several major UK festivals (including Citadel Festival in London last weekend), and break new ground internationally appearing at top festivals in Italy, Spain, France, and the United States.

‘Conversation’ follows ‘2all’ and ‘Longshot’, as the third single to be lifted from The Balance, with ‘Longshot’ being the band’s most successful single to date, achieving 45 million streams worldwide since its release in January.

The Balance was recorded by Van McCann (vocals, guitars), Johnny Bond (guitars), Robert ‘Bob’ Hall (drums) and Benji Blakeway (bass) over a 12-month period in the company of Irish producer, Jacknife Lee. The album follows Catfish and The Bottlemen’s 2014 platinum-certified debut, The Balcony and Top 10 ARIA Chart successor The Ride (2016), including lead single ‘7’, which hit Gold status in Australia last April.

The Balance is out now via Island Records / Caroline Australia.
