Clowns launch video for “Soul For Sale”

Clowns

Melbournian hell raisers Clowns have had a MASSIVE year with the release of their fourth studio album Nature/Nurture bringing with it many a milestone.

The album that had been dubbed “their strongest record yet” by Stack Magazine debuted at #6 in the Australian ARIA Charts. It’s achieved an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album, garnered over 1 million streams and expanded their subsidiary business Damaged into a record label (with the help of Caroline Australia). It opened up the US market with a 32 date tour of the United States and offered a signing to Fat Wreck Chords, making Clowns the second Australian band to join the esteemed label in thirty years – and, It’s pushed them to their biggest Australian shows to date while affirming their success abroad with European festival dates at Deichbrand and Mighty Sounds.

Among the years successes was the Keepin’ The Dive Alive project, which has been documented in their new video clip for the track ‘Soul For Sale’.

Aimed at injecting some much needed funds and foot traffic into the Melbourne music community, the Keepin’ The Dive Alive initiative saw Clowns curate five shows at small venues across Melbourne, playing each one of their records in full at the respective shows. With all 18+ shows pushing the venues to capacity while reminding and reigniting the sense of community, it was a great success! Clowns vocalist Stevie Williams had this to say –

“We heard that some of these venues were facing closure and wanted to do something! The biggest highlight for me was seeing how much people loved these venues, and how much they appreciated our efforts. You could really feel the community behind the shows and to give back to that community who have been so kind to us over the years really felt good. I wanna do it again next year but in a different city!”

2020 is gearing up to be another corker for the punk quintet, until then, enjoy Clowns new single and video clip ‘Soul For Sale’.
