Ironstone resurface after line up shuffle to release second single & video

Ironstone

Melbourne melodic metalcore merchants, Ironstone burst onto the Australian heavy music scene six months ago with their first single, Machine.

Today, the band return with another monster track featuring their lead guitarist Ed Warren on vocals.

The lyrics of Polarity deal with the modern pressures of opposing or ‘polar’ viewpoints on seemingly every topic and having the ‘right opinion’ in an attempt to fit it. Is someone’s opinion really theirs or are they just saying what they think others want to hear so they don’t rock the boat? Polarity sings of trying to see the nuances and shades of grey in a situation rather than going along with popular opinion which has become black or white.

The video for Polarity was shot at a Lake Eppalock in central Victoria, close to the bands hometown of Bendigo

Ironstone incorporate a range of genres into the mix. Atmospheric textures, the duality of soaring and guttural vocals, heavy riffs and breakdowns, epic solos and synth. The result is a unique and modern progressive metal sound.

Ironstone recently went through a line up change and took the opportunity to update their sound and direction. The band is now brothers Edward and Perry Warren on lead guitar & vocals and bass respectively, with Aidan Kalms on rhythm guitar & keys and Jackson Whyte on drums.

The bands live show has earned them a reputation around Victoria for their tight, energetic performance and heavy, infectious songs and they will announce new live dates in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

In the meantime they will launch the single tonight at The Evelyn Hotel, Fiztroy when they play at Melbourne’s newest metal nightclub, Forge.

Polarity is out now!
