Having spent the past year between Australia, Europe and America, Melbourne’s Kingswood have finally returned. Confident, eager and energetic, the stadium rockers are back to reclaim a rock-and-roll crown that’s rightfully theirs with thumping new single ‘Say You Remember’, a brand new music video and a national tour in October / November.
Dripping in bravado and tasteful falsettos, ‘Say You Remember’ is pumped full to-the-brim with throbbing riffs and a devil-may-care attitude. Complete with a smooth cinematic film clip, dusted with hints of sepia-toned nostalgia, Alex from Kingswood says of the track:
“Say You Remember feels like a coming of age, a full circle revelation if you will, where all the energy and excitement of what defined us originally is smashing against years of song writing and musical reflection, rebellion and reformation. We feel like we’ve finally discovered the true identity of Kingswood since its inception some years ago”.
Over the last 5 years, Kingswood have been on a journey of discovery and creative growth since they released their debut ARIA nominated album, ‘Microscopic Wars’.
In that time, the Melbourne group have been continuously reinventing both themselves and their sound; with the ultimate distillation coming in 2017’s ‘After Hours, Close to Dawn’. This release generated some of their biggest hits to date in ‘Creepin’ and ‘Golden’, but also saw the band expand their boundaries with the Alt-Country singalong ‘Big City’ and rhythmic jam ‘Atmosphere’.
Kingswood have long been renowned for a phenomenal live show, and after a momentous performance at The Great Escape in UK earlier this year, fans across Australia will have their first opportunity to see Kingswood perform ‘Say You Remember’ live in October and November, along with a collection of new tracks and all the hits from their back catalogue.
“We have long had a love affair with touring, both here and abroad. Somewhat of an addiction that affords us the luxury of merging our creative world with the real world, seeing it play out in real time, getting feedback, on all levels, in real time.
The road is arguably the reason we’re the band we are, and we have such a huge appreciation for the people who have ever and continue support us. There road is where the exchange of gratitude takes place.”
