American rock band Alter Bridge has embarked on their fall 2019 North American tour called Victorious Sky co-headlined by Skillet and Dirty Honey. The tour kicked off on September 22nd in Maryland and will end on October 25th in Florida. Their New York stop on September 24th became memorable not only because of great performances, but also it was moved last minute from original venue Terminal 5 to the heart and soul of New York City on Times Square in Playstation Theatre. Terminal 5 experienced a small fire in the storage room some time before the show, and necessary changes in scheduling was made.
Rising stars Dirty Honey performed a great set, followed by Christian rock band Skillet. The stage was set for the main course of the evening.
Alter Bridge formed back in 2004 by three former Creed members Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips and they were joined by then The Mayfield Four vocalist Myles Kennedy. The band has released six studio albums to date, with the most recent Walk The Sky to be released in just few weeks on October 18th.
They opened the set with single Wouldn’t You Rather from the upcoming album, and also played Pay No Mind and In The Deep from it. All songs done in classic Alter Bridge style, somewhat heavy but melodic with meaningful lyrics. Mike Tremonti was taking over with many guitar solos, and the crowd loved them all, after all Mike is considered one of the top guitarists in rock music. The band not known for flashy extravagant shows, delivered a great musical experience, not as much meant for the eyes but for the souls and minds.
Only one album was not presented on the setlist, it was their last release from 2016 called The Last Hero. The others however were represented with two or three songs from each, with notable ones Ghost Of Days Gone By, Cry Of Achilles and Addicted To Pain.
After releasing the new album and finishing up the North American Tour, Alter Bridge in November will go to Europe for an extensive tour in major markets.
