It was throwback Friday this past weekend at the RockStar Music Hall in Windsor, ON. The Killer Dwarfs graced us with their presence for an evening of good old fashioned hard rock. If you haven’t heard of them buy now, then you were either living under a rock in the hair band era or just not born yet!!
These guys have been kicking around since the early 80’s, making them one of the original iconic 80’s hair metal bands, selling over 2 million albums worldwide. They toured with bands ranging from Iron Maiden, Ronnie James Dio and so many more.
Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, the Dwarf quartet consists of Russell Graham on vocals, Darrell Millar on drums, Gerry Finn on guitars, and Johnny Fenton on bass.
The Killer Dwarfs have amassed a regular and devout following of fans throughout the years, rightfully so. They are known for having a great sense of humor which was always represented in their videos, ,onstage acrobatics, and for writing and performing memorable tunes about sticking to your guns and following your dreams. Their songs are a direct representation of everything they stand for. Tunes like “Stand Tall” and “Keep the Spirit Alive” have become anthems for the Killer Dwarfs and their supporters. I chatted with Russ briefly after their show and he said the fans would “kick their asses” if they didn’t play those songs.
Being the extremely friendly and approachable guys that they are, they hung around after the show and signed and chatted with anyone and everyone before tearing down their own set. So much for being rock stars…
The Killer Dwarfs are still touring from time to time, so make sure you check them out if they are coming to a town near you.
