May of you reading this will not be familiar with these bands and that is exactly why I am writing this review. I think its important to look for new music to listen to and new bands to follow. Well here are four of them all from the Midwest in the United States.

First up is Sweet Addiction lead by Joe Spannbauer. They are a classic metal band with some very interesting songs like “Lick It Up and Swallow It Down”. To me they are similar to Jackyl in the sense that they are a party band.

Next up was Nuisance who is also a party band but much more modern with very heavy riffs and aggressive vocals. If you Like true heavy metal mixed with a rap feel, these guys are right up your alley.  They are so much fun to watch and really entertain the crowd. They have some great songs like “Burial Ground” and “The Message”.

Cold Kingdom has gone through some member changes over the last few years including Dani the lead singer leaving. But on the upside was replaced by an impressive vocalist, Elissa Pearson. It changed their sound a bit but for me its better, mostly because the vocals are softer but still have an edge.  They have some really great original material like “A New Disaster” and “Under The Surface”. Both are from their latest album Into The Black Sky. They are a very energetic band that is a lot of fun to watch.

The headliners were Gabriel And The Apocalypse who have gained a lot of momentum over this past year. As a photographer, they are hands down one of the most fun bands to see live! Lindy Gabriel the lead singer truly has a beautiful voice, but the music is loud and large. If you are a fan of In This Moment, Black Veil Brides or Marilyn Manson, you will love this band. If you are not familiar with any of them, imagine Madonna or Lady Gaga with a metal band. I hate to make comparisons, but I want to give you a feel for them, encourage you to look them up and give them a chance. This band is really cool and should be much bigger by now. You can thank me later.
