My Midnight Things was released on June 15, 2018. The album was also mixed by Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Black Sabbath, Adele, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (David Bowie, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Tom Petty).
2018 was the breakthrough year for American heavy metallers Visigoth, and 2019 is looking just as bright for the Salt Lake City powerforce!
There will be a few exciting announcements coming shortly from the band’s camp, but first of all, Visigoth would like to thank their loyal and constantly growing fanbase with a video clip for “Traitor’s Gate”, one of the key songs off their latest album, Conqueror’s Oath.
The video features live footage from Visigoth’s festival shows at Hell Over Hammaburg, Keep It True and Bang Your Head and was edited by Oliver Bomber Barth for Visions in Fear.
Legendary American Thrash Metallers Sacred Reich are currently in the studio recording their highly anticipated new studio album – a first in 23 years – entitled Awakening.
Phil Rind comments: “Recording is in full swing with producer Arthur Rizk at The Platinum Underground in Arizona. We are so excited to be back in the studio after 23 years. Dave is currently killing it on the drums.
Sounds sick! Our new record ‘Awakening’ is due this summer. Stay tuned! Tour dates across the planet coming your way!”

On April 5th, legendary multinational thrash metallers Exumer will release their fifth full-length, Hostile Defiance, via Metal Blade Records.
Hostile Defiance is exactly what its title suggests. A 42-minute full on attack, the thrash faction hold nothing back as they unleash hell as only they can, yet with more variety and dynamics than ever before. “We wanted to sonically progress, incorporating more melodic elements in the music as well as more rhythmic variety,” states vocalist Mem Von Stein. “We are a lot braver trying to create an up to date and relevant sound that can easily stand alone in today’s thrash landscape without sounding trite or a throwback, and we’re challenging the listener not to get too comfortable with one specific feel, tempo or pace.”
For a preview of the album, the video for the first single, “Hostile Defiance”, can be seen at:

The clip was created by renowned cover artist Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Voivod, etc.), who also made the album artwork and layout for Hostile Defiance.
Hostile Defiance marks Exumer’s third time working with producer Dennis Koehne (Sodom, Melechesh). Tracking the album in studios in Dortmund and Frankfurt, the sessions were marked with “super positive vibes all around with a strong, driven work ethic to create an optimal product.” The band plans to tour the record hard, and will be hitting the road in Europe when the album drops, and from that point onward, they will be visiting as many countries as possible. “Our goal is simple: to further establish the band as one of the main German thrash metal acts that began in the 1980s and are now carrying the torch into the 2020s.”
Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of Blaze Of Perdition, one of the leading forces of the unstoppable polish Black Metal scene.
Blaze Of Perdition comments: “We are thrilled and honored to become part of the label with such an undeniable input into the history of metal music. We’re hoping for a long and fruitful cooperation, which will begin with our fifth full-length album that’s already shaping up and will bear the name ‘The Harrowing of Hearts’.”
Blaze Of Perdition was founded in 2007 by guitarist XCIII and started its activity by releasing a split CD, In the Void and Serpent, the Spirit is One, with the Russian band Pseudogod. The band’s line-up changed numerous times over the years, however XCIII and Sonneillon remained the source of all musical and conceptual content. November 2nd, 2013 turned out to be fatal as the band’s bassist died in a car crash on tour, and the vocalist Sonneillon became unable to participate in live activities due to his serious injuries; however, he remained important in the band’s creative process and responsible for the studio vocal recordings, lyrics, graphic design as well as contact with the media.
Blaze Of Perdition recorded four full-length albums and is currently working on the fifth one, planned for release in 2019/2020.
On April 12th, German extreme metallers Ketzer will release their fourth full-length, Cloud Collider, via Metal Blade Records.
Looking on Ketzer’s musical history, change is what has always defined their sound. From thrashing riffs to atmospheric blackened tunes, Ketzer is a band that has always aimed to defy genres. So what can we expect on Cloud Collider? Nothing more than a ride on a storm cloud, followed by a soft breeze in your face and, finally, a cleansing rainfall. Ketzer’s fourth effort will surprise many as a shift into yet another direction, combining many of the band’s essential trademarks and carrying them one step further: Raging drum beats, harsh and powerfully thrashing riffs, as well as epic melodies that will haunt you long after the last tone has faded away. After years of intense work, Ketzer have created an album that can only be described as a milestone in their career and a clean break from all expectations: this album is a storm.
For three years now, Ketzer has been working on something new, and the result is something new indeed: somehow linking all trademarks essential to the sound of Ketzer, now and then, but taking it all one big step further. These new tunes might well be the strongest Ketzer songs to date. Recorded at Markus Stock’s infamous “Klangschmiede Studio E” as well as Laurent Teubls “Sculpt Sound Studios” in autumn 2018, the suitable visual expression for this new effort has been found by cover artist Adam Burke and illustrator Johannes Stahl.
Ketzer checked in with the following comment about Cloud Collider: “Lately, we have been possessed by storms. First there is a breeze, then the sky darkens: A sense of electric energy starts to fill the air. A sense of sheer power, building up, waiting to erupt. ‘Cloud Collider’ will strike you like a force of nature. When recording an album after months of hard work, blood and sweat, it is always our greatest wish, accompanied by the most terrifying fears, that the recordings will be able to ‘catch’ the songs and their certain, special spark. When we hear the final result for the first time, we have to think: ‘THIS is how the next chapter must sound’. Only then, we can be satisfied. With all the more pride and joy we can now say about ‘Cloud Collider’, that both is the case, and it is without a single doubt! THIS is how Ketzer has to sound in 2019! It is new and it is old and it is everything. It is fast and it is slow and we just can’t wait to bring these songs to the stage. This album is a piece of work that we feel embodies all aspects that stand and stood for the sound of Ketzer now and then. An album that manages to still go one step further to form something new!”
The album’s first single, “No Stories Left”, comes with a special guest appearance by the legendary Proscriptor McGovern of Absu fame, who not only lent his striking voice to the track, but also added the following comment: “It is with inordinate honor to announce my co-vocalist appearance on ‘No Stories Left’: the first single to be issued on Ketzer’s upcoming album ‘Cloud Collider’. What I contemplate = I uproariously touch with voice. What I enter into imagination = I make myself one with; however, a tower can fall twice.”
