Muules drop new single Deeper & Announce QLD release shows

Muules

Sunshine Coast power trio, Muules have spent the last two years digging deeper, further exploring their progressive alternative rock sound, while still limiting themselves to just bass, drums, synth and vocals, and this new single ‘Deeper‘ reflects just that. The track, inspired by Nine Inch Nails’ Downward Spiral and The Fragile-era, and late 90s Filter, will find itself released into the world this Friday June 21 – and will be available for streaming and purchase on all platforms at http://ffm.to/muules_deeper. A filmclip for the grunge-af track will follow closer to the release shows in July!

Having already released an EP in 2018, followed by a self-produced single earlier this year, Muules have deemed this their most adventurous and heaviest so far. In a heavily guitar-driven genre, the three-piece have pushed the sonic boundaries to the point of sounding bigger than most five-piece bands around, utilising an array of effects to make a bass sound like many instruments in one, along with the barrage of beats and powerful vocal punch from an unassuming frontman.

Bassist Rhys Fox says that “‘Deeper’ can be seen as a call to arms to the creatives to not settle for the mundanity of the 9 to 5 slog, but instead put it on the line, dig deep, and do what you were born to do. We really feel that with the massive beat, driving bass line, and huge choruses, ‘Deeper’ hits hard, and asks the listener, ‘it’s your turn, so whatcha gonna do?’”

To celebrate the track’s release, the guys are today also announcing two release shows for the single in South-East Queensland, presented by Straight Outta Nambour – Friday July 26 in Ipswich venue Banshees Bar and Art Space, with Baltimore Gun Club – and then Saturday July 27 at the iconic Brisbane venue The Zoo alongside Pretty Cash and Nonberk. Then, the three-piece will be performing a sneaky instore performance at Wax Buildup (Maroochydore) on August 10.

Deeper was recorded by bassist/songwriter Rhys Fox at his home studio (All ‘guitars’ are played on bass!), Drums were  tracked at Sunny Coast Music in Caloundra and the track was mixed and mastered by Clint Vincent (Guitarist for Dead Letter Circus, Rival Fire and producer for Aerials, Like Thieves).

Muules’ ‘Deeper’ single will be released into the world this Friday June 21 – and will be available for streaming and purchase on all platforms at http://ffm.to/muules_deeper.
